Also in the hunt. West coast and Southwest desert dealerships atent budging off MSRP and acting like its amazing they aren’t marking 10k over sticker. Midwest and Southern dealers seem ready to sell some rigs.

I always thought black friday was the best time to buy... looks like summer is even better.

Highly recommend Francis DePetro at Park Ford in Tallmadge OH for you east/mid people. Stayed after hours to sell me mine after I drove 4 hours. Went to 7 dealerships before them and noone wanted to budge off of MSRP. Not 1 dollar. They can keep em for that. One dealer even refused to let me test drive with a blank check in my hand. All of them kept saying "we always sell these above MSRP so you're actually getting a deal." LOL One actually boasted that if they cant sell one at MSRP then theyll lift it for 800 bucks and put it on 37s and "some sucker will buy it for more than MSRP." It was eye opening...

Almost gave up the search as I refuse to pay MSRP for any vehicle. Found another scab at park ford on autotrader and drove up there. It seemed like about 10% of their inventory was Raptors early that point. Park sold me the truck at what I wanted to pay for it and gave me a hell of a deal on my trade in. Happily make my payment every month. He said they sell the majority of their Raptors to other dealers. They're close enough to Dearborn that they can have the trucks in a week or so ordered when others wait months. Got exactly what I wanted.

Highly recommend those guys.

I was thinking that too. Hope you’re right. I ordered a scab. Screws are everywhere and it’s much harder to find a scab on a lot much less get a deal on one.

Definitely.. when I was searching there was 2 within 200 miles. Driving one of them now. :D

Well that is exactly why I have been teetering back and forth between 2 dealerships. One has one fully loaded including graphic packages except recaros MSRP 76050-7k off(68690 before taxes) Another dealer has a loaded raptor with recaros minus graphics for invoice about 5K off MSRP 75400.

Its a shame what Ford did, making so many GEN 2's they not only hurt the new market they have killed the used market.
Had they stuck to limited production #'s dealers would not be sitting on so many 2019's. Toyota does it right with the TRD Pros, make a limited # and offering a unique color every year so the interest and demand is always high.

Back in 1966, Winchester came out with a special rifle, a "commemorative '66"...and the demand for them exploded through the roof. So, instead of leaving things as they were, they restarted production of that rifle, and ended up making about 160,000 of these so called "collectors" rifles, and then (to top it off) they started cranking out "commemoratives" for everything from various states, to Buffalo Bill, to US presidents, to whatever they could think up....

Net result? These rifles are now regarded as near worthless. What was once highly sought after is now viewed as the starting point of building a custom lever action because the parts are so cheap and easy to get.

FMC has effectively done the same thing. By disbanding SVT and turning the Raptor into just another trim level, and cranking production to the moon, you'll now see dozens of Raptors just sitting on dealer lots. Local to me, at Evergreen Ford in Issaquah, they have at least two dozen of them at any given time, and they are not (what you'd call) "moving real quick". They shuffle them around the lot every few days, but the same trucks seem to sit there week after week, month after month. Especially the Shelby Raptors with their $120,000.00 stickers.

In the future, I think that the only Raptors which will hold any significant value 10-20 years from new will be the Gen 1's. If you want a full on race truck or just want to thrash a rig, the Gen 2 would be a great bet. Has a better shock package, and Ford is clearly willing to flood the market with them, so getting another one probably won't be much of an issue, at least until they stop building gasoline engines in vehicles.

Do we actually know the production numbers of the Gen 2 compared the Gen 1? No doubt you see a fair amount of Gen 2 screws. The Gen 2 scabs will likely hold their value better just from the rarity. I think even the TRD pros are catching up to demand. they used to be the center of the showroom, now i see several sitting out front of every dealer i drove past while doing my raptor hunting. I do wish they did more raptor only colors though. The Recaro interior was a nice raptor only touch, a truck like this needs a sporty interior thats more than just plush leather seats.
