Backfire Entertainment

I have an early build ‘17 I took delivery of in February ‘17 and just a few months ago noticed it backfires pretty consistently after every fill-up.

I now find myself dramatically getting on and off the throttle after each fill-up purely for entertainment of making the truck backfire, like a 16 year old kid.

Am I the only one?

Well, that's an interesting "issue". My '18 Focus RS would, I guess, "backfire" in Sport mode and that was hella fun (and normal) but so far the Rap isn't doing that despite always being in Sport mode.

Maybe she just needs a tune-up or is having an EVAP issue.

Many others do the same thing. Mine included

There was some guy from Tune+ that said he could easily make this happen with a tune on Facebook. Followed up a few times regarding it and he never got back to me.

My early build '17 backfired after filling up, same scenario every time, I would come to a complete stop and then on acceleration away from the stop, it would backfire. That would happen 2-3 times up to maybe 10 times after filling the tank. Now, what's crazy IMO, Ford hasn't figured out the issue because my '19 does the same exact thing! 5k on a 2019....not a single backfire...nothing but a perfect purr in all modes at all speeds....only run premium since first fill up if that makes a difference
