OK guys, it looks like the injen is a bit smaller and could be restrictive for later modifications, for examples, larger turbos. That said, Garrett offers super high quality (speaks for itself), cheaper than Mishimoto depending on where you shop, it’s only .3 thicker and it’s flow capable to 750hp.

That said, they show on their site you need to remove the shutters, but isn’t specific at all in their instructions on whether it’s the entire system or if it’s just the shroud, like that of the Mishimoto— Any one install the Garrett and have any insights?

Kickin it in Canada!
Seems like the whipple & mishimoto are right around the same price. Wonder if there's anything tangibly better on 1 over the other? I know a while back there were quality issues on some of the mishimoto stuff in the Japanese car crowd, but I think was more on their radiators & could also have been chinese knock off fakes running around...anyone know where the whipple is made?

I like that the mishimoto comes in black

I have the Whipple kit on my truck and I can tell you the quality of the Whipple intercooler is very nice. I was really impressed

That’s great. Can any of you guys confirm with Garrett as to whether or not you’re only removing the air guide / shroud for the shutters or cutting / removing the shutters?

Garrett shows (at the top of their instructions) that you remove the shutters, but doesn’t say hey it show it on the raptors?

For me this would seal the deal if you don’t remove anything but the shroud

I caught the install instruction, but where it notes raptor, it only says to disconnect the fan plug— everything else (incl the shuttters), it’s showing it being removed on the F-150 model, not actually on the raptor.

Full race emailed me and said this is also the case, but Garrett has yet to confirm— Such a great product but very vague instructions. Oh well, maybe this will clear things up for other raptor owners to get a much better product than the Chinese Mfg of Mishimoto.

Worst case, I may still remove the shutters if it calls for it since it’s such a nice unit and I can always box them up.
