That answer should depend on how your phone is connecting to the system. Sync 3 is still intact, so if your phone is connected by bluetooth to sync 3, or usb wired w/android auto or carplay, then you would be using the same mic setup you currently do. I remember @Guy said something about this in this thread or the Gen 3 thread.

On the other hand, if you bluetooth connect your phone to the tablet itself (and I would imagine if you used android auto or carplay to the tablet) then you're going to be using the tablet's mic. I believe in @Guy's post above, he was referring to using carplay through the tablet, not through sync 3, thus you potentially have quirks like the echo that you wouldn't have going through sync 3 directly.

What I'm a little unsure about is how the system reacts when a phone call comes in. If I bluetooth my phone to sync 3, but the tablet's focus is elsewhere (say watching youtube videos full screen) with the focus immediately jump to sync 3 for my phonecall, then jump back when the call is over?

Kind of an aside, but I do think the fact that you could connect one phone to sync 3, and a second phone to the tablet itself, is rather interesting. I carry both a personal phone and a work phone and it would be great to have both connected at the same time. Currently, personal is connected, and receiving a work call means I have to manually turn down the radio and can't utilize hands-free. With this, it shoulldn't be an issue. It would also be useful if you have a spouse or SO who often rides. I think the PX6 can actually support 5 bluetooth connections at a time, so maybe the entire family can use hands-free. Of course, my teenagers don't want their conversations on the speaker, and I don't want to hear it.

Thanks for the info.

Now another thought, what if you got the wifi hot spot for the truck activated? Say connect the PX6 to the wifi hot spot and than BT on the Sync3 side for basically phone only. I'm going to be ordering one in the next couple of days so hopefully I get the new Sync3 cable with it.

I think you misread?

At this point.... all elements of the factory sync 3 work exactly as they did stock — including the factory navigation.

All elements of the tablet appear working for me. The steering wheel controls work as expected. The tablet functions as expected. The camera button works as expected with the benefit of a much larger screen for viewing. The streaming music works as expected. Android apps are smooth and trouble free. Navigation in full screen works without glitches. Tablet voice activation works perfectly. Apple car play works! On apple car play when making a call there is a little bit of an echo for the person talking to you. My guess is it’s s microphone feedback thing. I have told them about it.

There really isn’t anything else left I can find that doesn’t work exactly as it should.

Would I like to see improvements? Sure. I’d like a more customizable launcher/interface just to make it more of
My own... but this “4th gen” is lightyears ahead of the px3. It is also light years ahead of the stock screen.

..Yeah, I did misinterpret that comment....I know it’s work in progress with this Device and bugs are actively being addressed. I’m anxious to get the Px6 installed.
Thanks for all the information on this newer unit.

I have a hotspot.

Yes Bluetooth and wired CarPlay work flawlessly with the sync 3 unit and you can bypass the tablet for these features entirely. When a call comes in it will automatically switch over and let you answer it.

I’m just pointing out the features of the tablet itself.

I’m telling you if this were a “factory upgrade option” the dealership could and would charge 3 grand for it, easily. It’s that good now.

I absolutely believe you My comments are mostly about reverse engineering this in my head to get an idea of what it can do now or possibly in the future. More for fun than actual evaluating the product. I'm already sold.

And I'm glad it's not a factory option, all the best features would be locked out when the cars in motion.

Thanks for the info.

You should be able to connect the tablet and sync 3 to wifi individually (as well as whatever other wifi devices) in the car. I don't know what connecting sync 3 to wifi really gives you though, so can't say that it's a good idea to make that connection. I can connect the truck to my house wifi while parked on the drive way, so maybe I'll check that out. It might be a bad idea if sync 3 and other devices hog too much bandwidth, slowing speeds on the tablet.

Speaking of wifi, I'm curious to know if the PX6 screen can be mirrored to other tablets in the vehicle, when everything is connect to wifi. That's more of a rhetorical question, just curious. It would need to perhaps have tablets on the rear headrest in sync with the PX6. I image there would be a delay involved and be more confusing than useful.

No issues at all like you are describing.

I suggest you hard reset your device and make sure all your connections are right also. Particularly the harnesses that connect from the CD player to the device.

I never had any px3 issues either. I’m not that lucky. It’s just end user and install issues to blame for a lot of this stuff.

The connectors are SUPER finicky. They all have to make a click and snap or else they’re not right.

If that doesn’t work with a hard reset... you may need to exchange it — although I’m not convinced the unit itself is bad. Maybe other fish to fry.

i hard reset it 4 times since installed from android like on a phone, reset factory settings (noticed it doesnt do anything all settings same)

im gonna rip it out and reinstall it i guess.. but i highly doubt its install issue as its all plug and play but no harm in reinstalling

i sent all bugs to the whatsapp # you provided.. they havent answered back yet but i did request a exchange of unit on their website earlier today

im prob just unlucky

When a call comes in it will automatically switch over and let you answer it.

Can you switch back to what you were doing, before it switched to Sync3 to answer the call? Currently, if I am listening to Tidal and phone is bluetooth to Sync3, when I get a call/text on my phone, it switches to Sync3, but I can't switch back, without re-loading the app, and thus losing my place in a song, etc.

That's the one big thing that bothers me about the px3, or whatever, I ended up just turning off the phone call bluetooth. Not sure if it's possible, but would be nice to keep the phone/hotspot active for data on the phoenix and then have the phone call bluetooth active for the sync3 only. Probably a way to do it, but I am not savvy. It would be okay if it automatically paused your app while you take a call, or even press pause on the phoenix, while you take a call.

Is the px6 sorted?
