Taking it to the dealer in a week. Said its good to drive until then. Any idea what is causing this sound?

Heres a video of the sound.

Mine sounds EXACTLY like this after sitting a few days. My guess, the ratchet can chain tensioner is building some slop when not under pressure. I recall they have an internal ratchet that keeps them tensioned.

Mine too. Same exact noise. First week 2018 build.

At the dealer now. Could not replicate the noise but showed them video. Thought it might be the Trans Aux. Pump going out. They could not fix anything it until it breaks. Tech did not think it was internal to the engine but who knows. He suggested waiting on Ford to figure it out. I bet enough calls to the Ford Performance hotline will get us some answers and maybe a fix unless this is considered normal.

Just talked to Ford Performance. No known issues that they have heard of from Ford. He said that he would check out their fleet trucks to see if theirs had a rattle. He thought it may be the oil bleed down at the cam phasers and possibly the trans. aux. pump.

Made them aware of this thread and told them to check it out as apparently there are many Raptor Owners experiencing this.

Mine was fixed and was not the tensioner but instead the cam phaser. My left phaser was replaced. 2018 at 11k miles. I was out my truck 3 weeks but Ford put me in a rental Lariat so it wasn't all bad.

I have a 2018 with the same issue. When wears (within an hour of running) no start noise. It sat for two days over the weekend and I started it and it sounded like someone was playing yatzee in the valve covers !
Going to Ford. I did see a post on Cam Phasers so going to Ford with that info. Will update

Curious if anyone has a tune or had a tune when this happened? I can replicate it with my tune, but then I remove the tune and it quits.
