GEN 2 Remote Start has never worked

My remote start has never worked since I purchased the a 2019 Raptor new 2 months ago. I have locked and then pressed the start button 2x on the fob and also tried with Ford Pass.

Both say failed.

I checked the hood switch. Seems fine, truck only shows hood ajar when I actually open the hood. I do have full security (with motion) that arms when you lock the truck. That should be ok right?

Otherwise even after reading the manual I see no reason for it not to work.

Any ideas?

Any chance the spare fob is in the truck?

Good question, but no. I have tried with both fobs too with the same result.

Only other thing that comes to mind, I have seen rental cars with the remote start disabled. Short of having the dealer look at it or someone with Forscan I don't know what else to try.

Press the lock button, then the start button 2x. For whatever reason, that's the combo Ford decided on to start the engine. Pressing the start button 2x is the combo for killing the engine.

I'm not quite sure of the logic behind that decision, as other cars I've driven have all worked as you described and as you'd expect.

Take it to the dealer. I have never had an issue with mine.

Am I missing something, or isn't that exactly what the OP said he tried in order to get the remote start to work?

The fact that Ford Pass won't work makes it seem to me like it's definitely not operator error with the key fob...

Autostart could be turned off in the cluster.

On my wife's 2019 MDX, the remote start on my fob never worked. Her fob works perfectly. They want me to bring the car in and have the fob replaced, but what a PITA given it's not close by.

I got it working!

I had to check the System Box under the remote start menu on the cluster. it's just odd they didn't mention that setting specifically in the remote start section of the owner's manual.

Not a very intuitive name.
