I also agree. 1st test drive was exactly how the OP described. After reading for months before ordering (and then waiting) I did test drive again at 38psi and was very happy with the ride. I tested the Raptor on the same terrible roads I was driving my F150 Platinum on and it was night and day. This ride also has changed my mind to go with 20” wheels vs the stock 17” because I believe the larger sidewall on the stock 35” tires contributed to the great ride.
I even speed up now to drive over railroad tracks!
Don’t let the ride steer you away from the truck. If it meets all your other needs you will not be disappointed.
Good Luck!

This post has me concerned! Will be taking my first test drive tomorrow and am hoping the ride quality matches the beauty of this truck. Will hopefully look to check PSI pre-ride and ask to lower if needed.

Researching this issue further though (i.e. reading through old threads on this forum), it appears many posters complain of the deterioration in ride quality 2-3 years from purchase (even trucks with zero off-roading mileage).

Were those posters an anomaly, or is this just a 'known issue' with Raptors whereby shocks need to be replaced more frequently?

Thanks jinrsvl nice post. Definitely needed to hear that I love the look of the truck think I should get another test drive on some better roads to really get a feel. I don’t think my test drive was even close to 5miles more like 2-3 at best.
Hank. Put the front tire pressure at 36-38. Then put the rears at 4 psi less than the fronts. Raptors ride well on pavement at these pressures.

Off pavement you can go lower. For my use 32/28 works well. This is on very rough dirt ranch roads. Rocks, washboard, whoops.

Let me know what you think of the ride. Hopefully it was just me that felt the ride quality wasn’t as nice as the looks. But I never checked the tire pressure and it was a very quick ride less than 2 miles I would say. I wish I would have told the guy I need more time with it, it is a lot of money to make up your mind in 2 miles. Judging from guy’s advice on here they say get it I won’t be disappointed.

Ok my next test drive I’m gonna have to make sure the tire pressure is set properly. I wonder if from the factory they purposely over inflate the tires.

They do..this was posted a bit ago..I think it comes from the factory around 45psi..the door sticker recommends 38psi and Raptor Assault instructors suggest 34/32 (if i remember correctly)

My daily driver before was a 69 bronco and this rides WAY smoother..haha

I had the very same experience that you did. My GF and I test drive and 18 and I thought, there is no way in hell I could have this as a daily. I watched more videos etc. went back and test drove a 19 and bought it on the spot. I couldn’t be happier! I love it!!!

Did you find the drive of the 19 model different, or had your expectations just been 'tailored' to match your research / subsequent experience post lowering the PSI?
