My area around St Pete Beach often has high tides causing the street to be flooded. Is there any type of protection other undercoating (really ugly) that will offer protection from salt water? Any suggestion would be helpful. I worry about the under carriage and salt water. I always wash with fresh water but sometimes it takes a while.

Amsoil HDMP is what I used and couldn’t be happier. Search the forums.....lot of good information on it.

Ditto. Just did mine 2 days after buying it. I go on the beach often and wanted protection from the salt. HDMP is great. Easy to use and gives a great protective coating and looks as good or better than without it.

I just ordered below

BOESHIELD T-9 Rust & Corrosion Protection/Inhibitor and Waterproof

It's decent but MPHD is much more durable, even though not as pretty.

How long is a piece of string. Some guys go nuts and coat the whole thing 5 times. I used about 2 cans of MPHD to do 2 coats on what I considered the important bits on my Gen2. On my Get 1 I used more as I did the underside of body as well. I only ever used the Boeshield on the shocks in isolation.

Actually I also used boeshield on anything under the hood which looked like it might corrode including raw aluminium.

Good luck.
