I just use my dash cover (carpet material) and put a strip of velcro on the back of the phone. I have it hanging above the air vent and next to the navt screen. perfect positioning and the velcro has never dropped my phone. I can put pics later if you want.

I have Ram Mounts with a universal plate that I mounted to the side of my Lowrance mount. It is rock solid. I've ripped across the desert, jumped the truck, and it stays put. I am in now way sponsored or affiliated with Ram Mounts, but I have been impressed with how well they work under extreme conditions that a normal phone mount would not. I have one on my bicycle as well and my phone has never moved, which has much higher consequences if the phone falls out.

Have you checked out the quad lock? It is universal but very minimal and the case is minimal as well. I like it because I use it on my bicycle, armband, and motorcycle without having to change anything. They make a suction cup for the windshield that held really well for my 96' Bronco but the little mount that has the 3M tape on the back is the best I have found for my truck. You can even get a rain cover for use on bicycles. It is reasonably priced off of Amazon. Check it out.

I have already convinced a bunch of people on this.
