Also can you change the color of the raptor on the display to match your truck or is it always white? And did they fix the display on the backup camera that shows a different vehicle instead of a truck?

To the guy asking about the video cable.

Here is a quick update.

So the unit is reinstalled. I popped 2 more fuses. It’s the 7.5 amp f13 in the kick panel. Anyway. You have to be really careful with the HVAC control boards as the metal posts are extremely close to circuit board contacts and I had to insulate them with liquid electrics tape to stop the issue.

Now that it’s up and running.... it’s fantastic hardware. It’s as smooth as my iPhone. There isn’t any screen lag or keyboard lag and waze opens in about 3 seconds. It’s also buttery smooth.

Good news is that the sound quality is fixed for Pandora, Spotify and Tidal. all sound crisp and clean and are super smooth and fast to open and use.

The Bluetooth 5 module is much better as well, but the Bluetooth built in microphone is still muffled for people on the other end. It’s a moot point because you should use sync 3 for your Bluetooth. The built in microphones and such thru sync 3 will always be cleaned and better.

There are no screen image quality issues. Further, the 360 camera button now pulls up your cameras in a full screen format without having to have sync 3 open.

The steering wheel controls are a little wonky right now.

There is a bug where you have to go from console to music tab to “close the console” to get sound to work for apps on the tablet.

They are aware of the above bugs and are coding software fixes.

This device is “the one” in my opinion. It has the horsepower to deliver the user experience and run all the latest apps and navigation.

Split screen is effortless now.

If you are tech savvy... jump in... if you want it to “just work” then wait for a few weeks of software updates to fix above bugs.

2 weeks until the updated video cable to fix the upside down sync3 navigation as well.

@Guy You are the man!

I'm diving in head first once those longer cables are a part of the package.

Just so you know, I've waited for a long time for an alternative screen because I went ALL OUT and built my bucket-list "Car Audio" system around the Sync3 oem dash and steering wheel controls. I purposely didn't want to get an aftermarket head unit.

This fits perfectly for what I am hoping finally finishes the system off! d911a747b29d43a6d546d23b86552a02.jpg5d2c8ace5161d827eb0fcbaf8dfc0cce.jpgc580a0a155422ac4cf01151025f578bf.jpg

What do you have for subs? And how do you like your MTI enclosure? I have two 10" Focal in mine, and I love it! Didnt spring for their awesome A pillars though.

Do you have the longer cable to fix the GPS issue?

No, but I use Google Maps through the Phoenix unit, as it syncs with my Google account on my phone, makes it very easy to use. When the longer cables are available, I will get one, fix the factory GPS. At least then, Ford Pass will show my truck in the right spot.

A single JL 13 of some kind.

I requested Chris to design an SQ system that allowed for me to still have the underseat storage available for the single passenger side rear seat. (I often carry cargo there)

He did a great job, in my opinion.

I'm 61. Long past my spl youth, if you know what I mean. :). I just wanted one of his legendary sound stages and I gave him no budget restraints. It's been more than a year. I still get blown away every time I haven't been in the truck for a few days.

Honestly, one of my favorite things is how quiet they got the truck. Eerily quiet. So even the softest passages still participate in the imaging. I think he's really good at what he does. He deserves his reputation. :)

...update as to my return/exchange for the Px6 unit as well as the longer Sync cable. Just got off the phone with one of the representatives and as of today (Jul 16th) it'll be about 2 weeks for those cables to be included.

just an FYI here......I simple told them to ship the Px6 when they for sure had the longer cables.

I will tell you I have been going back and forth with them a lot and they seem very confused on the PX6 right now. It comes with slightly different settings and a slightly different UI and they seem to not be very confident using it. At least the customer service guy on WhatsApp.
