Why can't they have it rebuilt?

It does make sense. When there is a recall to replace a part on a million vehicles, there is a waiting period to get the parts. There usually isn't a million of a specific part.

Your example isn't applicable because A) there is no recall, so no undue demand B) there is a difference between "not having a million" and zero C) a national backorder has been confirmed, and no outlet that I've been able to find has them in stock.

Yes it is applicable, not exactly as nothing is exactly. Reread my previous post. In a short search I found stock at a Ford parts supplier. More homework needs to be done.

I'm seeing some parts suppliers who are listing the parts on their site, but none who have them in stock.

That's the goal! After two and a half months of waiting I think they owe me as much.

Post the link, Mr. Holier-than-thou. Guarentee they aren't really in stock.

So you’re are not concerned about all the other things that will break after doing it? The fact that the suspension length is different. That they don’t work without other serious modifications and even then, things are still going to break?

Go on Facebook. Some guy just snapped his steering knuckle due to trying to run Gen 2 shocks on a gen 1.

As someone who has a Ford ESP for almost 2 more years or another 40k miles, I would think Ford is obligated to ensure there is parts to cover its own warranties. I am in no need for OEM shocks as I upgraded but who knows what parts I might need down the road if they fail during that timeframe. I purchased the 7yr and there was an 8yr so plenty of folks still covered.

Wonder what the fine print on the contract states about this?

Oh and DO NOT put GEN2 shocks on a GEN1, DO NOT.

Fox says the 3.0 shocks fit the Gen1. What’s the issue with putting them on?
