I have a 2013 and would like to use the front camera when pulling into a parking spot. I know I can force it on with a $600 piece of hardware, but it's definitely not worth it to me. Hitting the diff lock and off road mode buttons is no big deal, but the menu option defaults to off every time I start the truck, and the two-handed shuffle to turn everything on is a bit much. Is there a way to make the camera mode in the menu options stay on?

Just on the steering wheel on the left scroll though menu option to Truck Application, two right clicks, when see option for camera click OK to enable.

I think that's it. Click again to disable it.

Yes, I understand that. The issue is that it reverts to disabled every time you stop and restart the truck. I was wondering if there was a way to keep it enabled by default.

Does your truck stall out while you are trying to park? lol

I live in a tourist area on the coast and it's a good idea to tuck as far as possible into a parking spot in many areas around town to avoid getting scraped by the people in rental cars looking at the sights instead of paying attention. If I can quickly turn it on with one hand without looking down, it's totally worth it. If I have to use two hands and scroll through some menu options each time, it's not going to get used very often.

You can just leave that menu on. One click enables or disables the camera…

I agree $600 is a bit much...next best option would to be add a second after market camera setup. I know Costco had one for like $125.
I have the Lockpick, so it does more than just enable the front camera...enables front or rear camera anytime you want, nice when towing and just want to check on things while driving. Then allows DVD's to run anytime, I've never used it. Also allows you to other settings that previously had to be in park.
Personally even in off road mode the factory camera screen location is not the best, it would be better to have a small secondary screen in the upper left on the dash, that way one could still look ahead while looking at the screen...it's just odd to look down to see ahead.
Big picture wise your better off getting a lockpick or going to a secondary setup. By the time you add the added wear a tear on components and tires from going into lockers/4 Lo while turning on pavement just to enable the factory camera....
2017 Raptor at least got the camera to a much more acceptable use, just push the button, along with more view angles!

Any updates on this issue yet? Just got a used 2014 and would like to pull into spots as much as possible too.

I don’t want to spend $600 just to use front camera without all the hoopla. I can’t believe there isn’t a cheap/free fix to this in 2019!
