So I am pickup my truck 2019 802a next week and finally going to install my sound system, Audison, Hertz, EQ, ect. My question is have many of you had sound proofing done to your entire floor and doors? I am not planning on doing the roof due to the sunroof being there. Kind of nervous to have the whole interior seats, center console and entire interior taken out, but know long-term if it works it will be worth it, plus the doors. My system is high end so I was hoping that this would make it all come together nice as well add to a more quiet ride. I found a shop that has great reviews, spoke to the owners and seen they have done a full raptors already, full sound damping floor and doors. Just wanted to get someone honest opinion if it really quieted the cab down. Thanks!

It helps a ton from the sound perspective, but between my sound system, extra batteries, lights, dynomat, etc. I probably have an extra 600 lbs in my truck at all times.

Only time I ever used it was on a 68 gto. Not for the sound system, just to make it less like a 50 year old car. Improved road noise a bit.

in my case...i decided it was a truck...big old 4x4, not a lincoln navigator. no matter how much you try and sound proof it, it is still going to be a truck full of plastic and metal. over the years, it is going to make noise.

Now that i have a real sound system, I do not once remember thinking i should have done dynomat. Part of the charm of a 4x4 truck is hearing the exhaust and tires. My favorite thing now to enjoy my system is lower the windows, and open the roof and just rock out. No amount of sound deadener would help in that situation.

my vote is to skip it. It is $500 you don't need to spend.

I did Second Skin's Damplifier Pro (just like dynamat). It made a small difference in cabin noise but the audio was clearer. The biggest difference was putting in the Luxury Liner Pro. Made it real quite and music sounds fantastic

I would focus on doors, back wall, then floors in that order. Remember, deadener simply tames resonances...does not sound proof. Yes the cab will be quieter, but yes you will still hear tires, you will hear exhaust etc...hopefully you will NOT hear rattles from certain frequencies. Deadener will help with back waves from the speakers too. Sound proofing is a completely different animal

I have my interior fully Dyna matted and would recommend it. I did mine not for the sound system but since I am always on my phone for business and wanted to eliminate the background noise from the road, exhaust, and wheel noise. I think it is worth the money and trouble. No use in doing the roof though not much there to insulate.

These are all great replies, thanks for the perspective. Just want to make sure the shop doesn't make a mistake or scratch it. I swear every time I take my wifes Cadillac escalade to the dealership it comes home with something I catch the mechanic messed up. just want to make sure all my panels go in and nothing looks like it was touched.

That's EXACTLY what I did and I'm very happy with the results. Deadener on and in the doors, Megazorbe foam on top of that and then a later of MLV between the trim and the door. Closed up the vapor shield area with a sheet of ABS. Deadener on the back wall and floor, a single sheet of MLV on the floor under the carpet. It really helped reduce noise in the cabin and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.
