AMS Turbo Inlet Tubes

Just noticed that AMS developed a new product for our trucks! Now I’m wondering what took so long for someone to even make better flowing turbo inlets (common mod on other turbo cars). I already have their turbo adapters on the way, which seem to have a larger diameter than the SPD ones. Seems like a worthwhile mod as AMS definitely knows their stuff, hopefully our resident tuners can chime in on their effectiveness and potential.

Interesting...it shows 20hp gain but thats with additional parts installed not just the tubes...it would be nice to see just the difference the tubes make but Im guessing there is a reason they dont show that.

Ams has great products! I wonder what those pipes combined with the turbo adapters would do to my @goosetuned custom stage 2 power level!?!?!? I want adaptors but they look like a bitch of a driveway job!

It does say: "Over a 20 HP gain using the AMS inlet tubes and tuning alone" - My brain processes that as if the tuning without the tubes is 500HP, then tuning and the tubes is 520HP.

Interested in more info on these as well. The numbers may be legit, but I don't know of anyone else making performance turbo inlet tubes, which probably says something about the potential gains.

id be in if they were metal. I dont see the point of changing out one set of crappy plastic tubes for a different set of crappy plastic tubes.

How much difference can there be when it is stock diameter?
Would be nice to see a side by side comparison.

Except metal would absorb (conduct) more heat which is a bad thing for intake temps so in this case, plastic is actually preferred.

I'm more worried about the rubbing.

Most high HP turbo cars run stainless piping.
