GEN 2 Tie down gear

How does everyone tie down their gear in the bed when off-roading? I know stuff needs to be secure. I have a High Lift Jack, hydraulic jack, portable air compressor, and a few other items.

I know people use the built right industries stuff but I don’t have that yet. Was thinking of other ways to secure stuff while going on a trip this week.

I just put them into containers that can be tied down.

I installed this in the bed. Works great.

I do this. That was a 350 mile off road weekend camping trip. Spares tools snacks and a compressor are in the boxes. 2 cots, 2 mattresses, 2 sleeping bags, 2 beach chairs, 30 12 oz drinks, water, clothing and food. A jack could easily fit starboard side rear. I rely on the factory jack on fun trips.

I like your idea. Do you have pictures and explanation(s) on how you installed? Did you install any along the sides?

I installed these as Smurfslayer recommended...works great...Bought them online,cost appx. $38 for the 6 of them..and then ground them down as suggested to fit the bolts back in....The grinding was a PITA,but total job to grind and install was about 2 hrs....with a break for a beer of course...Good luck.

Make sure you get a couple extra d-rings as you can also put them inside the cab under the rear seat as well. Great way to strap more stuff down inside as well.
