I am going to take my truck in next week for the 10,000 mile service and the two recalls. From what I read, the 10,000 mile service is just an oil change and inspection checkup. The recalls are the Carpet Shielding and Insulation Rework and Door Latch Freezing Concerns.

I am running the MPT 93 PRX along with physical mods, like Full Race IC, SPD TA, colder plugs, 170 t-stat and muffler replacement, etc. Is there any reason for me to return my truck to the stock tune? What is the chance they will re-flash my truck for something not mentioned when I drop it off?

I had the oil changed at 5000 miles and I did NOT remove my tune, but that was at Quick Lane where I waited for the truck. This time I will be leaving it for the day.

They will do nothing for >> Insulation Rework and Door Latch Freezing Concerns

They will only perform work if you had an issue with the latches freezing.

They can tell when the truck has been flashed and how recent. I removed mine for the cam phasers. I'd have to imagine if they wanted to be ***** to avoid warrantying something, they could.

The insulation rework is related to the Carpet Shielding fire recall so I am pretty sure they will do the work. ;)

I only mentioned the Latch Freezing because it shows up in my FordPass App, but since I live in the Houston area, I have never had issues with it.

From what I understand, they can only tell how many times it has been flashed, but nothing more. It does not take a lot for them to see the rest of my mods and jump to the conclusion that it was tuned, but they would still need hard proof to deny an engine related claim. The law clearly states they cannot "void your warranty", but merely deny a claim they feel was directly caused by the modifications. (i.e. Blown engine, but not my windows no longer roll up or down...) At this point, I am not asking them to do anything warranty related other than the recalls they created for my truck.

I am not worried about voiding my warranty, but more concerned about them flashing on top of my tune and the hassles of getting it resolved by MPT after the fact.

leave it in. as someone else said...if they want to be jerks about it....you are already screwed. You are just hoping someone is not going to have a stick up their ass looking for drama. (most dont)

leave it on. my mustang is tuned and I always leave it on and tell the service department that if they need to do anything the tuner is in the console. They've always been cool about it
