So I noticed this on my hood when I went to give it a nice detail.. not bad but thinking the changing seasons will make it worse or even really bad.
The dealer said they’d charger me $400 and also that ford would likely not cover it under warranty. I was thinking of buying extended warranty from flood ford... do you think warranty that would cover this ? Here’s the issue IMG_5900.jpgIMG_5901.jpg
It’s not too noticeable from afar, but I am worried it’s gonna keep cracking and paint will start chipping off..

Also they said since the truck is so new they are doing it for cost and will have to repaint the whole hood.. what do you guys think?

That makes no sense .. bumper to bumper should cover that. Is there another Ford dealer you can go to in your area or ask to be contacted by the regional ford rep that's assigned or works with that dealership.

i agree it looks like something hit it. Unless you can prove some how it was there on delivery, ford will never warranty that.

Would an extended warranty allow me to get this fixed by just paying my deductible ? I want to get one but don’t wanna drop $400 then drop $1600 on an extended. Thinking of dropping $$on an extended then claiming this ?

sorry but no. it would be part of your comprehension insurance. same type of coverage as if someone keys your door. insurance would cover it minus your deductible.....but you could expect your rates to go up.

Not to mention, you just wrote on a public forum your planned insurance fraud ....just sayin

The hood is fiberglass? Sure about that? Should be AL like the rest of it.

And regardless what it’s made out of, that should be on Ford’s dime not yours.

For comparison sake on my 2014 GMC the body matched painted bumper started chipping if you even looked @ it funny lol!! I showed the dealer pics of my 135k mile black G8 GT bumper that I traded in for the truck that had fewer chips
In it than my brand new truck had w/ 4000 miles on the clock.

They paid for a full respray, then I paid to have it covered in PPf

point is, that looks like impact damage......not a paint defect. Unless he can prove it was there on delivery, ford will not take responsibility for that, and they shouldn't.
