Give it time and the rattle will get louder until it sounds like a diesle at startup. My wife's 2018 Lariat goes to the shop tomorrow. I sent my dealership a video and they knew exactly what it was. They told me they have a truck in the shop with the same issue. They said "Sounds Like Phasers. Typical Ford problem with timing chain."

I texted them 2 days to confirm my appointment and was told there are 3 diff bulletins for engine noise and that it is becoming a problem as they are seeing more trucks with this issue.

Lol you kidding me? Only happens from start ups after being left overnight. Thru out the day it’s fine tho.

Damn guess I’ll hold off on ic and dp. I know dealers are different. Did you guys get yours replaced right away as long as you showed them proof of the sound, or did they make you wait until it the truck was basically limping? If they made you wait is there anyway to hurry the process up?

It's been mixed. My dealer claimed it's normal operation. I've hired an attorney and have endless videos time stamped of the rattle and knock. My noise is definitely changing as I have a start up rattle for 2-3 seconds, then what sounds like change or bolts being shaken in a metal coffee can for the first minute or so (this has progressively gotten worse), and then turns into a knock from the passenger side of the truck.

I’ve done it with a bmw 335 maybe 10+ years ago due to their fuel pumps. 4 pumps within 18k miles. Was pretty easy process, I’m hoping I don’t have to go thru the buyback process. It’s the thought of having to wait weeks for parts is what will kill me and having it needing to happen 2-3 times before I can even think of lemoning it too is a headache.
