Auto Start Disabling option?

You can also just tune it out using AP software or COBB Accessport.

My understanding is that any tune based solution (Forscan, AP, etc) will permanently disable the battery management system in order to disable the auto start/stop, correct?

Pretty much but most programmers like that, you have to select it, it doesn’t shut it off by default when tuning.

If you put the truck in Sport mode the ESS is deactivated. Is that what happened?

No, it's in normal mode. It just stopped working one day and I can't even re enable it.

One possibility I can think of is that you have an as yet unrecognized electrical or battery issue.

That's what I'm thinking. I thought maybe it was because I was due for an oil change. That the truck knows it's running old oil and it doesn't let the truck stop and start because of it. But I changed the oil and reset the oil reminder... Still no auto start stop. I'll scan it and see if any errors pop up.

BFR- You are correct- that was my first question back when, what exactly does that wire control, besides the auto start? I know for sure it controls auto start, since that is now disabled. Did I disconnect another sequence or function elsewhere? Don't know yet. As far as asking my dealer, right now they aren't on my favorites list. I wouldn't believe anything from them including the sun will come up tomorrow....I had my tires rotated last week, and as they drove it up for me to depart in, I noticed the RR wheel was rolling 30 degrees off vertical. Yup, they forgot to tighten the lugs. Really.
