There is a TSB for harsh shifting, dealer re-flashes transmission for no charge. Significantly improved my shifting in Sport mode. Letting the transmission warm up before driving hard also helps.

I bought my 19 with 801A and a couple other options for $59k here in Houston. 0 miles. This is before tax though. There are dealers here marking down the left over 18's for 5-10k.

thanks for the inputs!

carmax offered 38k for my 2019 TRD pro.. felt it was too low. guess ill have to sell it privately and keep an eye out for an '18.

SELL TO PRIVATE PARTY...! When I sold my 2010 TRD Tacoma in 2018 (60K-MINT) to buy my Raptor I was offered $15K from dealers/carmax...put ad in paper and 1st person (seriously, thought I had UNDERPRICED IT) bought it for $22,750..!

No offense but a 4Runner and its electronics are one of the oldest new vehicles you can buy. Some day Toyota will upgrade it and Taco with current day technology. Until then they're reliable on and off road but jeez are they "old"

CARMAX, in my experience, lowballs their buy offers by $5K min and prices their vehicles with at least $5K in profit regardless of what value they have on it per their "books".

Hi all,

i currently have a 2019 4Runner TRD pro but have always wanted a raptor. this one popped up on carmax and seems like a good deal. any opinions? it is a 2017, avalanche, 802a and technology package with 33k miles for 56k.

https://www.carmax.com/car/17172252

ive placed it on hold pending an appraisal on my TRD pro.

any input on if it is a good deal or not would be appreciated. ive heard about possible transmission and enigne problems on the 2017, but plan on getting the Flood ford ESP if i do buy it.

thanks!

-Ian

Dealer just resold my 2018 with 22k miles for $60k. That 2017 sounds overpriced.

But get rid of that POS 4Runner. Drove one of those before we bought my wife a Durango SRT. Ugh...
