My 17 is just fine. Looks to me that this engine is sensitive to oil quality. 5000 mile Ford synthetic change and racing filter.
Proper warmup. Don't rev or lug a cold engine.

I tend to think the same as you. I use full synthetic Mobile 1 and the racing filter on mine as well. Normally change the oil when I see 40% oil life remain which is typically between 3k to 4K miles. Same as you on warm up and revs. Lots of mods on my motor, no issues to date.

The only issues I can report are due to my tune on a couple of occasions where it threw a CEL due to engine load once and a turbo over-spool once. Transmission was also starting to shift hard but a reflash and retune fixed it all.

Same her all royal purple full synthetic with royal purple filter; I push it a little farther to 7-10000 miles. 24000 miles not sure if I’m lucky or what but I think others have used good oil and filter and still have failures...

Just because your truck doesn't have an issue YET doesn't mean there isn't a problem. Why would Ford have an updated part?

Its amazing to see people blame other owners for these issues and not Ford.

Not blaming others, just saying there could be a trend. The motors tend to be sensitive to a few variables that aren’t being tracked. I get that the phaser shouldn’t fail in any condition but on a performance motor the tolerances are a lot less. Considering the volume of these motors produced and the frequency of the issue, the Raptor has a very reliable motor.

To me you have to compare to high performance vehicles when comparing reliability of our trucks. Seems to be very good.

My wife has a 2018 Lariat with the 3.5L EB and is suffering from the cam phasers. 16K miles and I have changed the oil myself since new with Amsoil Signature Series and used WIX XP filters. BTW ... the wix xp looks incidental to Amsoil filters. I had an opportunity to speak to the regional WIX rep and he told me Amsoil contracts out their filters and that wix have made their filters in the past.

I will update this thread once I take in my wife's truck.

Wix makes a 24000 mile filter. The way they do it is not filter as fine, so it doesn't plug. Not sure what they call it but bad news

Parts are updated all the time. Just because a part is updated doesn't mean it was bad. It could mean a better way was found.

3.5l ecoboost is now on gen 2. Prob hundreds of parts were updated. Does that mean gen 1 3.5l was bad? Nope. Just means better ways are found to do the same thing or more.

Well my truck has been in the shop for week and half. Cam Phasers are on back order and they are waiting on Ford for response to order timing chains. I am beyond annoyed right now but my local dealer is taking care of me with a 2019 King Ranch diesel. Its nice but I havent even had much time to enjoy my truck.

I am thinkin of taking legal action against the dealer who sold me the truck. I feel like they knew of the issues with this truck. Sync wasn't working (AMPI) and moonroof which I had to take it in for within 3 days of ownership and two weeks after that the eco rattle. Not sure what I can do or if I should but I am just frustrated.
