Windshield heater

Did anyone noticed that 2019 has a windshield heater? Was wondering if it could be retrofitted to 2017.

Windshield heater or wiper deicer? Usually the heating elements are imbedded into the windshield so it would require a new one be installed and assuming the power to them could easily be retrofitted.

If it's a windshield heater that would be rather impressive. I have it on my other vehicle. They are nice but your eyes have to adjust as the heating elements are visible.

It's just a wiper de-icer. The heating elements are visible in the windshield under the wipers.

Do they come on automatically?

I m pretty sure it is just activated the same way the rear windshield heaters are, by hitting the rear defrost button. That will also kick in that element.

Is this feature on all models (800A to 802A)?

Comes with the tech package I believe.

I had heated windshields on my Hummer H1. The thing was an aerodynamic brick with vertical windshields so snow smashed right into them while driving instead of being carried over by the slipstream like on most other vehicles. Because of this they were a life saver in the winter, but if they broke they had a retarded price of about $4k dollars for the pair.

I wonder how much this one is if it needs replaced.
