GEN 2 “Must do Mods”?

Well I was a lurker now an owner (I think I already replied to this thread) but after 4 months ownership & 5k miles. I’ve pretty much narrowed down to the following:

Already done-
Truxedo rollup tonneau
Undercover swingcase toolbox
Nokian snow studded snows (haven’t gotten rims yet for them but will get cheapest stock size that has a design I like keeping the stock beadlocks for nicer weather)

Cleaned/sanded all bare metal on undercarriage primed/painted rear diff/axles & treated every piece of metal w/ 5 cans worth of Amsoil HDMP, my shocks & front lower A-arms I cleaned & put 2 coats of automotive clear on them.

Xpel film - front fenders, partial hood, grill surround, & black plastic “A/B” pillars on doors,

Tinted the pano roof- gets too hot in sun in warmer months + front windows.

Planned mods for future-
Shorty antenna
Mihimoto or other Tranny cooler
Larger/better Aftermarket intercooler in stock location
Eibach front leveling springs
Deaver +3 leafs
LED+amber cube lights on bumper
Cobb accessport w/ custom tune maybe MPT or gearhead
Linex coating on front skid plate

Mods that may not be relevant in higher trims (I have an optioned up 801A)
-getting custom leather cover for center armrest black w/ red stripe going to upholstery shop
Pulling door panels, adding dynamat & replacing speakers w/ JL or focal & adding small sub/amp
Swapping out shifter & front dash trim for carbon fiber OEM

Agree with above completely. Though it hasn’t prevented me from modding like crazy in the 4 months since I got my beast. Truck is great as is, but if you have time, money and the inclination, there’s so much more potential for to make the appearance personal, get the lighting to your exact needs, or increase performance in a variety of ways. It’s such a blank slate in some respects, its’ just hard NOT to mess with it.

I never planned to do all this but it’s just plain fun, and if you have the money and inclination, go for it; reading this forum was key for me to figure out what I wanted to do. There are so many good ways to change up your beast and I’m guessing no two Modders have done it the same way.

Want to do mods...... Everything!

The two that most greatly enhanced my pleasure was a stubby, because the factory would hit on garage and parking decks constantly.

The second was a tonneau cover because I park in the city every day and cannot leave items in the back seat area. Had my truck broken into twice already. Leaving items locked in the bed have never had any issues.

Just added stickers to the side of mine today. Not bad for $240 installed. Cheaper than the $1K OEM.

Also added a bed mat on top of my spray liner to protect it and last but not lease the shorter antenna.

Total Mods about $255. Stickers $240, bed mat (Free) & Antenna $15.
