Finally get rid of those tailgaters once and for all! Love Toronto but whenever I come down the traffic is damn awful. Speaking of Toronto, let's see how the Raptors do tonight ;). Also, by f.f do you mean firefighter? Not very accustomed to acronyms haha

I think its a do or die for them tonight. And yeah I am a firefighter in Toronto, home base in Yorkville. One of the major reasons I saw that Ambo image and said "**** yeah!!" under my breath! And yes, when it comes to motors, the 6.2 is the only way to go imo. Like many others have said, they really put good work into this motor and it truly is a workhorse!

Awesome man! Not sure about you but us boys don't get much sleep so I'd like a nice comfortable ride home. Workin on-call so it's a 5 hours drive back home after a 12 hr shift. How are the stock speakers on the truck? Gotta have the tunes pumping on the way back

118-112 for the RAPTORS. I'd say we have a chance!

And were still in it!! The stockers are nice, they can always be better but I dont mind them. There are a few guys on the forum that have upgraded theirs. The sound of the eingine is sweet music enough to me. And yes, after a shit night, the seats are a damn blessing. The newer models have heated and cooled seats (13-14) but im sure someone can correct me on that so it does help with longer commutes. You will be going through gas though being that far north tho. Man what a commute !

You guys have got me sold on the raptor for sure, now it's just finding one that's going to be hard! I couldn't care less about the gas, I have enough things to worry about in life and gas ain't one of em. I feel like the wider stance of the truck will make my highway trips more enjoyable. The Tacoma is smaller than a sedan on the inside and is a little wobbly at higher speeds (100-120 kms/hr). Not to mention I'll be the guy with the "cool truck" ;)

Hey, since you're also in the Ontario area. Are there any repair or modification shops you recommend? I don't like going to the dealers because they always seem to mess something up especially since this is an older Gen vehicle.

Thanks in advance
Ive just been doing it all myself. Geiser front progressive springs, icon rxt leafs, rigid lights, it has all been pretty easy to do, just time consuming. The only places I go are for wheel banacing and alignments. Otherwise its been up to me! The problem up here is nobody gives a rats ass about cars anymore. They are a tool and that's it. So, if you want something done right, I say Ill try myself first!

I have over 80,000 miles on my 2011 6.2L Raptor. It's been my only four wheeled vehicle throughout my ownership of it. It's been my daily driver, and it was the vehicle with which I moved from northern Alabama to northern Nevada. It is a stone reliable exceptionally capable workhorse. The width and height have never been a problem except with regard to parking in low-ceiling parking structures with tight confines. I wash my own truck, so the width has never been a factor for me in commercial car washes. The 6.2L runs very happily on mid-grade fuel.

The Raptor used to attract a great deal of attention. When there were few on the road I found myself popping the hood and delivering the Ford Raptor Orientation Briefing with astounding frequency for people who were fascinated enough to approach a stranger in parking lots and gas stations. I even gave the briefing to a police officer! No longer. There are enough Raptors on the road now that my briefing has been on the shelf gathering dust for several years.

@Sozzy12 is right on the money concerning how it handles. The wide track and deep suspension makes it astoundingly nimble and comfortable. There is a traffic roundabout near my home that I must negotiate every day, and I can blow through it at 35 mph. Nobody has ever maintained their distance behind me through that roundabout.

I would not buy anything with the 5.4L in it. That engine has a history of spitting out spark plugs, particularly the rearmost two.

the 5.4s only split their first plugs from the factory cause for whatever reason ford used 2-piece plugs

My 12 also has the heated and cooled seats

Unfortunately I'm not the most mechanically savvy person especially when it comes to cars, though I have enough self-respect to know how to change tires, headlights, fluids, engine oil, etc. But that's about the extent of my knowledge

For Suspension rebuilds go to Forgedoffroad.com. you get on there exchange program so when yours need to be rebuilt or serviced they will send you a set to your Specs and you send them yours. Visit there website. I got a totally Rebuilt Set of shocks and Struts for 1600 bucks compared to spending 2500 dollars for brand new. The suspension is totally rebuild able just like a Dirt Bike or ATV

To be completely honest, there isn't much on the truck that goes wrong wth it. As for upgrades, Im sure there are offroad companies that can help out, maybe Just Jeeps. I just don't trust mechs because I have seen what kind of garbage they think is "fixed." Upgrades are fairly easy, even for beginners, it just takes time. A simple thought I have always stood by is the engineering of the vehicle is focused around the lowest common denominator. Meaning, in the middle of Mongolia, can someone fix this with the most rudimentary tools possible? Yes. So why cant we tackle it? Pizza and beers also go a long way too...

And imo, go with a 6.2. They are a beast of a motor, similar (probably better) fuel mileage, and easier to service.
