I just received my FedEx tracking numbers from Whipple for my supercharger with Gen 4 rotor assembly. I ordered the “tuner” kit through my local performance shop as as to support the local guy too. I ordered the JDM 650HP upgrade kit, but have no idea why they call it the 650hp. It’s the exact same components as their full kit advertised as the 700hp kit, that includes the ‘tuner’ supercharger. So basically, it should be the 700hp kit, but I’ve just ordered the individual components to make the same setup, including the FR twin 65mm TB. Received my tune from JDM this morning. Only thing I’m currently waiting on is the Afco heat exchanger. JDM said it was still in production and could be another few weeks.

While I’m waiting on it, I wanted to see if those of you have have already gone through this, could tell me of any specific tools that I’m going to need to help in the installation. I know I need to order the special spark plug socket/extension. What other tools make the job a lot easier? Any specific wrenches or sockets, etc? I’ve read at least 1 of the rear blower assembly bolts are a pain to reach.

As soon as I begin the installation, I’ll try to post updates and pics.

Since I’m trying to get all my needed parts/tools together prior to starting, how much extra coolant do i need to get? I’m going to use the Afco HE instead of Whipple. I just need to get a ballpark number? Where is the best place to purchase the oem stuff?

Your going to need at least 3 gallons.
I don't know if you know but Whipple recommends,
Ford's Gold 50/50 mix antifreeze (yellow in color) and a bottle of Water Wetter.
It's what I use for the past five years. It's still clean and clear.

You get it all on Amazon.

Received my kit Monday evening. According to Whipple, since the Gen 4 blowers make about 1psi more boost at any given interval than the Gen 3’s, they now come standard with a 3.625” pulley. Got to pick up some coolant this week, but plan to start the tear down on Sunday evening. Just ordered an Aeroforce gauge.

3.625" really!

This Gen 4 must to be really efficient. That's a good thing!!!

I'm still with the Gen 2 with a 3.375" pulley.

Are going to LT Headers?
I haven't talked to Whipple about the Gen 4
Have you ask them if you can run the 3.500" with LT Headers.

I didn’t ask them. I might do headers in a year or two. The big factor is noise for the wife. I asked JDM about that pulley and they said I would still be fine using the 3.250” with their tune. If it’s pulling too much boost, I may switch to a 3.50”. It will be interesting to see.

I won't and don't run the 3.250 because I'm still full stock exhaust.
I could but longevity would be compromised a little.

It's still not known how much boost over 10-11 psi. the stock 6.2L can handle, reliably.
And in the winter months, boost is higher.

I've running 560 rwhp almost two years now.
I do want to hit the 590-600 mark and this new Gen 4 compressor looks promising.

I believe Whipple told me the Gen 4 is worth another 5-8hp. I’m new to this supercharger business, but does a pulley change require you to re-tune? If not, I may move up to a 3.50” it boost is too high with the 3.250”. I need to get it on a dyno when I’m done to see exactly how much it is making. I don’t drive my truck hard, so I’m not too worried about boost unless it’s just way up there. If it gets higher in the winter, then I may have to do a pulley change.
