Hey guys, was looking for a tire pressure gauge but then also saw this which seems to have decent reviews. Curious if anyone has some recommendations for either or a combo unit like this one.

Thanks

Units like that will take forever to fill a tire. It's not the end of the world but plan on 20-30 minutes to go from 24lbs to 40lbs on a 4 35" tires! Even longer if you dropped the tires to dune levels of 14psi!

Only real solution to get around the amount of time it takes to use one of these is to go with pricey options like a Powertank. I use mine enough to justify the cost...

@Chris_S has a couple of good gauges to use and you might want to look at this one for $25...

I read at one time you want to have a gauge where the "top of the gauge" is in the ideal pressure range for your tires. 35PSI is pretty damn close to the top of the gauge on the Joe's Racing one I've had since 2014 and it has been very reliable. I always use this one to fine tune the pressure from other gauges.

I second the above post. Seriously, it's going to take like two hours to fill your tires. Before my onboard air all I had was a similar unit basically to have SOMETHING. I got myself into a situation in the snow up by Aspen, CO and had to air down. Airing up with a unit like this is just miserable. Above post isn't exaggerating. Probably 30 minutes per tire. Those are for normal car tires. I now run dual Viair pumps and it takes a couple minutes.

I second "third" for Powertank. I have both their digital and oil filled analog pressure gauges and they are good quality. I had to send one in for a leak after about 5 years and they took care of the problem so good customer service too.

that system you posted does 25 liters per minute. compared to the system i have (which is overkill) my system will be about 13 times faster. 25 liters per minute is about .9 cubic feet per minute. my system puts out 10cubic feet per minute plus my 10 gallons of air in tanks. i did a test with my air system and i can air up all 4 of my tires from 0psi to 44psi in 6.5 minutes. given the math rough estimates says it takes 65 gallons of air per set of 4 tires. that compressor you posted would take over an hour to fill from 0 psi. lets say you have 22 psi in your tires (for numbers reasons) so you would take approx half the time from a complete flat. so it would be well over 35 min to fill all 4 of your tires 22psi. its good to have as an emergency, but if you plan on filling frequently, you may want to go a different route

Is there any company that makes an on-board compressor that is made in the USA?
i believe oasis does, but they are a bit pricey. very good compressors. can run air tools on just the compressor alone but the cost is a bit much. i believer around $1600. i have 4 viair 400c comprssors that puts out the same amount of air
