I have Icon Composites fenders and they are JUNK. Not only is the carbon horrible the clear coat is starting to fade. And to answer your question the fit and fastener are trash as well. I'd wait for some vendor to come up with a wider paintable solution. As soon as someone comes up with this I'm ripping mine off.

I have the icon hood vent and fender vents. I dont have any problems with them. I havent seen any yellowing and I park my truck outside in direct sunlight.

I'm having yellowing issues with the CF stuff that I have from fiberwerx, but no issues with the icon stuff.

Icons hood/fender vents are junk. Terrible waste of money but they will look decent initially.
Ultimately, ICON COMPOSITES carbon pieces are so bad... I literally tossed them in the garbage and bought a different set.

And don't even think about customer service....because they won't answer the phone.
It goes to voicemail. Emails take days or weeks to respond if you're lucky.

Here is the kicker....one piece was backordered to my surprise.
I requested to cancel this order which they agreed to (after many vm's and emails were unanswered).
However, after 2-weeks of begging to give me the actual refund, they didn't have funds in bank acct.
Of course the owner Carbon Composites lied to me (or played dumb)...when PayPal already told me why the refund was cancelled. LOL.

All that aside, here is a simple comparison of quality (APR) on the rt hand side vs Icon (Cheap construction) on the left side of pics.
Yes, the ICON will eventually fall apart due to their cheap construction....no doubt about it.

Purpose for this stuff?
Just looks or is there function

Granted I have aftermarket fiberglass fenders but its due to needing clearance for larger tires for off-roading and thats the only reason.

everything else on my truck is carbon fiber, and the plastic vents and hood vent looked stupid with everything else being CF, so I went for it.

Otherwise- purely aesthetics. I havent had any problems with the icon composites stuff. They are a really small, couple person shop. I'm happy with what I have from them.
