HaHa I am in no way affiliated with RCI. Just a very happy customer of there’s. You can’t go wrong with any brand of skids made for these trucks

RCI didnt offer skids that fit with frame cut bumpers when i checked. Foutz does. They got the skid fitment within a 16th of an inch, without seeing pictures of my truck or having an svc bumper to test fit with.

I have the rci gas tank skid. Its the steel one. It's been rusting since the very first time I was offroad with it. Its a skid, so I dont much care, at least not enough to strip it and repaint it with steelit.

They do make skids that work with frame cut bumpers. The frame cut bumpers bolt up to the same place as my add bumper bolts up and I have the RCI skids from there back. Yeah steel definitely rusts quick. I have no experience with RCI’s steel or the powder coat quality. I’ve heard nothing but great reviews of foutz too!

2019 SCAB, bought new Dec 17 2018. First oil change (5100 miles). I decided to go with full synthetic Motocraft 5w30 oil and Motocraft oil filter.

In addition, I took off the center skid plate to access to oil drain plug and installed the fomoto valve for easier future oil changes.

When I unscrewed to old oil filter I was surprised to see the oil come out of a cut-out in the front skid plate from behind where I expected it. In my Gen 1, the access panel for the oil filter had a channel (as does this one) that the oil from the filter would drain through. Nothing came through, but it drained directly down from the rear cut-out in the skid plate. Just a bit hit the floor before I pushed the oil pan back a bit. Weird.

I decided to put a vacuum plug on the end of the fomoto so it would not get crud in there. Next oil change will go much faster and should be cleaner. This one took me a couple of hours since it was the first time I tried it and decided to take off the black center skid plate. Took my time.

Will you attach a hose to the futoma valve when draining oil next time?

Fumoto valve is a must have for our trucks!!!!!! I changed my oil Monday and it was a breeze, only had to remove small access plate “3 bolts” to reach the valve is hook up 3/8” clear hose. Didn’t spill a drop.

Are the valves only for the metal pans?
