So far, 1 of 6 Gen 2 raptors I'm around has had the cam phaser rattle issue. 2017, ~28k miles. He got it fixed ~1 week ago, took around 2 weeks for the dealer to fix it.

I'm surprised some of you haven't asked Ford for a buy back/replacement. Although I noticed a few of you are "brand new"members.

I did after around 60 days and they they declined it even under the cpo warranty.

I'm not denying the issue, just that a dealer would come out and say what he quoted. His is a canned reply based on a previous post. No dealer, no Raptor.

Carry on.
My dealer said that if one weep hole didn’t fix it, try drilling two. Something about there being two cam phasers so two weep holes might work better than one. Idk...

Thought I'd post an update. Dealer performed the repairs listed in the links below. Complete list of part #s are included on the work order for those tracking this issue.

In general, the truck was in for about a week. VCT Cam Phaser had failed. They replaced the Sprocket Camshaft (part # HL3Z*6256*C) the timing chain (part # HL3Z*6268*A) along with a host of seals and gaskets.

I have less than 100 mi on it since the repair so too soon to declare it fixed for me.

Dealer just closed out my paperwork from a few weeks back with the troubleshooting they did to allow for the Cam Phaser replacement. What was interesting was where in the checklist that it had a note to verify oil level, and verify that it has a Motorcraft Oil Filter on it.....Ive only put about 100 miles on mine in the last few weeks, but I have had several times of letting it sit for 3-4 days between cranks.. So far no noises.

AutoNation.

which one? There’s none in Toledo, there’s Amherst and Westlake within 100 miles. both of them have seen “a few” F150s in for cam phaser rattle and only a handful of Raptors. So what color is yours?

or some other Autonation Ford dealer?
