Gen 4 Whipple Coming Soon

If you have not already upgraded to the Gen 3 rotor set and housing, you should hold off. I just heard from Whipple that the Gen 4 rotors are in the works for the Raptor's 2.9 liter housing. They will be made standard in the Raptor kits going forward. Should be ready within the next few months.

Side note: anybody interested in a low mileage Gen 3 unit?

I spoke directly to Whipple this morning.

What’s the alleged diiference between it and Gen 3?

No one is quoting that yet. I picked up 30 RWHP when I moved to the Gen 3 unit from the Gen 2 unit, though. And I even went up a pulley size when I made the switch.

I don't think it's going to be a life changing difference but there's no point in buying a blower that's going to be outdated in a couple months.

I’m getting ready to purchase one, however I don’t want to wait for months to get it, especially if there’s not a huge difference between them. Did they say when to expect it?

I would honestly hold off. The rotor improvements are aimed at increasing efficiency, making them easier to drive. And the less drag there is on the motor, the more power you will make at any given boost level.

So the engine is less stressed, makes more power, and you will also get better fuel mileage. It's a win-win-win.

I'm already making 575 RWHP on a very heavy wheel/tire setup with my Gen 3. But I still plan to upgrade to the Gen 4.

Just my two cents.

Couple random questions after the SC install how much did you mpg’s Change? And did you have to upgrade the trans any to hold the power?

In my case, I dropped about 1.5-2 mpg both city and highway.

Before the Whipple Gen2 750HP setup, I was getting 9.7-10.3 city and 12.7-13.1 highway at 65mph. 11.5 at 85mph
Now I get 11.5-12.1 at 85 mph highway with the Whipple.

Dam that’s the mpg I am getting now N/A. WTH
