I have 1200 miles on my 2018. When is it considered broken in? Most of its been highway and city driving. Dealer never really said anything about it or how to break it in.

Modern engines don't really require "break in" the way engines from as little as 20 years did. 1,000 miles is more then enough.

I found there was an overall tightness in the truck and drive line that seemed to loosen up around 2,000 miles. That is when my MPG's rose to the "normal" levels i was expecting.

I think the manual says to "not labor the engine for the first 1000 miles". And the tires require 300 mile break in period. That's it.

I was told 1000-1500 miles before towing. Nothing else as far as breaking it in. Concur with the other posts as well.

Let me comment on break in. But not exactly what your talking about. I know your talking about how long you should take it easy on the truck. When I first got my 2017 raptor in January 17. It was strong. But really slow off the line. As the miles go by, all the way up to my current 15000 miles, the truck continually get faster and quicker. So it's breaking in all the way up to my current mileage. From when I first got the truck to now there is a world of difference in performace.

The only things you should avoid are sustaining high RPM or driving at the same RPM for a long period of time. After 1k miles, you should be good to go.
