I bought a base 19 raptor and had it for about 1500 miles. I love it. It has most of everything I need, backup cam and sensor. The stereo sounds ok too. So if you can find one, I would recommend you to buy it.

if i was going to abuse the truck and truly do off raod type things....that would be the only way to go.

But my truck is a pavement princess and most likely will never see anything off pavement. therefore, it must be as comfortable as possible for me. and that means every option.

I actually just purchased my new base 800A SCREW a few weeks ago. Not a single option on the truck. I couldn't wait for an order, so I shopped dealer stock. No regrets at all from me. I love the truck. It has just about everything I need.

I thought about getting the 801A for the leather, but I actually like cloth. I went back and forth on the tailgate appliqué, but ended up without it. The 802A package put the truck over my budget. Had I had the time to wait for an order, I probably would have added the front torsen, but to be honest, my truck will spend most of it's life on the tarmac. The auto climate control would have been nice too, but it's not too difficult for me to turn a knob occasionally.

I finally bought a vehicle that actually holds a decent resale value, so hopefully having a base model won't affect that too much.

I like the extras and not interested in a stripper truck. If you're worried about $$ then maybe you have different priorities.

I hate leather seats so I'm glad there is a stripper option. I also have no need for ACC, BLIS or sun roofs.

Heated and COOLED seats scream luxury to me.
Plus I like all the do dads and gizmos that came with my truck.

My '18 802A cost me less than $64k out the door and there weren't any strippers available but I would have preferred one for my line of work - sounds like the '19 would have been the right choice. My Rap goes offroad and gets covered in mud weekly so it would be nice to have less tech stuff that might go wonky in the future but it is nice to have, nonetheless.

If you need to order to get what you want try that route, but I was able to find a "leftover" 2018 SCREW w/ 801a but a bunch of extras ticked off most of which I'd want - I got my truck for $59.5k which included the dealer throwing in a tonneau+$1000 credit toward extended warranty which meant my total price before tax was $60,200 not bad for a truck that stickered for $66.8k & had a couple grand extra on top of that price w/ the tonneau/warranty credit.

What jacked up price on my truck? Def some stuff I didn't need that would've brought the price down a decent amount - the 2 biggest being the $1075 exterior graphics that I had removed prior to delivery + the $1295 dual panel moonroof, which I am torn on. I like that it really "opens up" an otherwise dark interior (esp on a black exterior), I like popping vent & opening rear slider...but am nervous about issues w/ it down the road. I have extended warranty & read up on some preventative maint/measures (already cleaned/lubed w/ grytox lol) so I'm fine w/ it. Would be a coin flip if I were to order one whether I'd want it or not. The price isn't bad (especially compared to 2 "raptor" decals lol) but issues down the road do.

The 801A package I gets you nice comfy perforated leather seats 10 way power + lumbar adjustable pedals big display screen heated seats + power sliding window & sync 3 (which is good for avoiding distracted driving) - I think worth it for those alone. What SUCKS is you don't get memory seats w/o the 802a - that is just ridiculous, and annoying....my fix? Once I got my seat how I wanted it I unplugged the harness to the motor hahahha - wife adjust the pedals when she drives. I think alot of the 802a stuff is fluff - except for the torsen front diff.

Extras on my 801a I DO appreciate
$1165 forged beadlock capable wheels - look different, forged is nice, like the idea they're beadlock capable
$795 navi - for the price why not
$365 power mirrors manual folding (rarely need em folded in, but def appreciate power adjustment)
$195 remote start - cheap & no reason not to get
$175 side mirror spotlights - cheap & nice touch
$235 sync connect
$375 tailgate step - I'm not tall, prefer the built in bumper steps on GM's, but this is nice feature if moving alot of stuff, and again, relatively cheap for what you get
$125 bed lighting - no brainer & nice touch
$495 factory spray liner

Like I said only thing I wish I had in addition was the locking front diff, that's it. I like the carbon fiber stuff not sure if that could be ordered as stand alone accessory.

I don't think I'd EVER get a vehicle w/o leather interior though - I have a dog & young kids & like the outdoors, way easier to keep clean & looking good for the long term. The cost of nice seat covers gets expensive too, only way I'd order a truck w/o leather would be in the event it saved me big $$ on a package on already high price heavy duty truck & I'd immediately budget katzkin aftermarket leather on delivery.

You are always going to get a wide range of opinions on a subject like this but really it all boils down to what you think you can live with or without. I originally ordered an 801 truck and started adding options to it, but was still going to be $4500 or so under an 802 package. Once I found out the updated order guide was dead wrong and there was no 8 inch productivity screen in the dash, I ended up ordering a new truck. Was able to get it down to basically a net $2500 difference in price and got a maintenance warranty thrown in.

Can I live without a heated steering wheel? Sure, but it definitely feels nice when its cold as **** out and/or if I'm headed to the mountains to ski on a snowy weekend. I think it also comes down to what your already accustomed to from your last vehicle. If you've never had certain features then your not going to be missing anything, if you have, well thats another story I think. Value should definitely hold on one though.

I want every option on the vehicles I buy. I hate blanked off switch locations with a passion. I want the damn switch and whatever function it has!

Been buying a couple year old used cars lately, since you can get a used one with everything for not a lot more than the used ones with the base options.

Only exception is the sunroof. That's the one thing you can avoid by buying new, but still get all the other options. Looking at used ones, it's hard to find a loaded model without a sunroof.
