Am I crazy for thinking about ordering a Std/stripped Raptor.

Hell of a lot of value for $50 something thousand. A lot of the upgrades are convenient, but don't do anything to improve the truck's capability. Folding mirrors are nice, as are bed lights and radar cruise, but they are not what makes a Raptor a Raptor. Will probably also see much better resale on a stripped Raptor because most options don't count for shit when selling.

I wish I had decided on a base when I got mine 8 months ago, I ended up getting a 802a with tech package and sunroof. I would of saved about 12k-13k on a base. And I don't use 80 percent of the options now that I owned the truck for 8 months. In 2018, the base came with that really small screen and that was the big turn off. Now the 2019 has the bigger screen and the new Fox shock I would definitely get a base if I was to buy today. Plus I wouldn't have to worry about the leather getting messed up.

I ordered a 800a SCAB with only a few small priced options - torsen front diff, remote start, bed extender, and LED bed lights. I've had it for a couple weeks now and am really happy with my decision. I think the base model comes with a ton of tech already; and all the extra options are just fluff to me with big price tags. I'm coming from a 2010 Gen 1 SCAB that was a base model also. I sold it for almost half of what I paid for it new and it had 150,000 miles on it.

Nope..not crazy.

I dont have a Raptor...but have been snooping around here as i might off load my E90 M3 (50k miles...2010) in the next year....might.
Not certain if i would opt for a fully loaded Raptor...or a stripper (can debate either way).

My M3 is a stripper/slicktop. No tech package and no sunroof etc.
The only thing i am missing is a manual!! *have DCT.

Stripper/slick top M3's ...especially manuals....are commanding decent coin. Better than M3's w the tech packages w sunroofs...
