Phoenix Android Audio retains Sync 3

So have not posted for myself in a while but having more issues sooooo.

A few days ago when going into reverse had these yellow guidelines appear over the top of the rest of the screen.

Next day going into reverse the screen was distorted with horizontal lines across the rear view and the 360 view on the right.

Going into reverse when anything other than in console mode and the backup cameras do not display. The screen stays on whatever app is running.

Yesterday going into revers the screen is black with a a very light grey border where the camera views would normally be and there is a blue graphics in the lower portion of the screen where the rear sensor view normally goes.

Between all of these I have done many resets using the paper clip.

Was curious as I don't use the Sync3 Nav but since so many others are having issues I checked mine. Well well. The Syc3 Nav is way off and at times going the wrong direction all together. Switch back to Android Auto with Waze or Waze and Google Maps on the Phoenix Radio and those are fine and accurate as you would want.

Like others, no audio from other apps while in console mode. For a while I had no audio at all the other day from any app on the device. Only Sync3 was working.

My steering wheel controls sort of work. Volume works normally. Next/Prev does skip or go back from the current song on Spotify but it also changes from the preset on the Sync3 to the next preset on the Sync3. That of course drops the sound from the device and gets sound from the Sync3.

I emailed, WhatsApp'd and FB messaged Phoenix Radio got two responses on WhatsApp asking for a video of the issue and a photo of my System Info screen that shows the software version and builds. I also got a phone call where I explained the same issues and he said they are testing a beta update img to address the sound issues but forgot to ask if it will address the GPS issues/interference on the Sync3. I have since messaged them this morning about my reverse camera display issues so will see what response I get.

So far on my end the only “bug” I can really pinpoint is the navigation being wonky.

I’ve listed the other small items above that are just inherently quirky.

I think there is some variation by model year. I’m on an old sony sync 3 and it seems to be faring a little better.

No gas gauge issues. No backup camera issues. Etc.

Spotify streams perfectly. Pandora is ok too but if the signal is weak on the Harman it Will degrade the sound quality. Tidal seems to be fine.

We need someone who is a real tech guru... hint hint... to buy this thing and hack it and clean it up.

Well, I think today I am going to put the OEM system back - too many bugs and things just not working or not working consistently. My settings about not to redraw or whatever does not stay either. I select it, if the unit reboots, the setting is again unchecked. The time randomly changes and has to be reset, many times when I hit console I get nothing, a black screen. Maybe the next gen will be better?

I feel like I won powerball that I have one of the 10% of these things that work...

The time is a setting. I found that it, but probably moot at this point.

Yeah, the unit is just too inconsistent. I need something that works all the time, reliably. I love the potential of the unit I just can't have things randomly stop working. And now, after the can update, my screen is ***** with lines all through it. I've reset, etc, still *****.

Man that sucks. The only thing I notice with the simplecanupdate was that the time seemed to stay correct all day yesterday. This morning when I left it was an hour ahead again.?

Other than that, everything "seems" to work okay.

Mine indicated it was shipped and so far it went to Georgia, I live in Arizona lol. The text tracking message says: No Authorized Recipient...Marietta GA.
I’m Trying to track it down and see what’s up.

no response from the email I sent back to them yesterday. no response from the voice mail I left yesterday. I just sent another and left another this evening. If they are going to help fix this, I'll stick with them a little longer, but if they are going to be non-responsive, mine is coming out this weekend. Shame, as even with out adjusting the screen settings mine looked good. SYNC was a little off in the aspect ratio, it seemed, but I could have lived with it.

For the sake of collecting data points; my SYNC screen would not come up this morning after starting truck (black screen) and I couldn't get it to appear by selecting console. I backed out of driveway and cameras did work. After selecting drive the console appeared.
