So what did we do with a supercharged 6.2L V-8 in Los Angeles? Headed straight for the tunnels. The sound that the massive Whipple supercharger makes, in conjunction with the tuned Borla exhaust, when mashing the throttle is like the sound of angels singing. It’s heavenly. And ripping through a nice tunnel with the windows down is so amazing it should be illegal".

Driving through tunnels while giggling like pubescent teenage girls? Sounds like the perfect reason to spend a $100k on a truck.

Will be a shame if the Raptor goes full Brodozer, but to each their own. If they slap a 4" lift on it, hopefully Ford remembers to include retractable sidesteps so all the guys with little-man's complex can get in without looking too ridiculous.

LOL, no one is going to be lucky enough to get one of these for $70k. My guess is $90k MSRP....and then the inevitable $20k ADM. Most buyers will be forking over six figures for this beast.

Totally agree! It will be a supercar price for a truck, but a tire shredding off-road beast at that!

Part of the rumor also predicts this will be a very limited edition sold along with the regular version. Few will be lucky enough to get one.

The article doesn't say that at all.

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a26912015/ford-f-150-raptor-v-8-supercharged/

It also indicates a $15k price differential, which certainly isn't meaningless but also doesn't seem to present a significant barrier to entry to your average Raptor buyer.

Obviously dealer markups are a wild card. Demand for a V8 Raptor will be off the charts. But the TRX and less expensive (though significantly less desirable) V6 base model Raptor will put downward pressure on pricing. And if it does end up spanning two model years, that will help a lot as well.

Regardless, it will still be a bargain with that kind of power. Can't wait.

Just noticed the poll at the bottom of the article that Ford most likely requested and is most likely monitoring...

There are plenty of articles on this.
"Another question would be production count. Given its expected high price tag and the exclusive engine, we’re unsure how many examples Ford would end up building. On the one hand, keeping this super-Raptor limited would be appealing, especially for collectors. On the other hand, there’s money to be made and if there are enough willing to write Ford a check, then why not build as many necessary to satisfy demand? We’ll keep you posted whenever fresh details arrive".

1) That's not a reputable automotive publication
2) They clearly didn't speak directly to Ford
3) That quote was in no way conclusive. It was purely speculative and even suggested Ford may build "as many necessary to satisfy demand", which is in fact the opposite of "limited production". Please refer to Item 1. Carbuzz is clearly a bunch of hacks and click bait generators.

What else you got?
