I used that firmware too - I was able to update with the .img file, what I am unsure about is how to do the 'simplecanupdate.bin' update.

Also, I did 2 things both of which had no effect on the sync nav - I removed the speaker, when that did nothing to correct the issue I then simply unplugged the gps antenna from the tablet, no change either. I'm wondering if it isn't a setting somewhere, someone mentioned that perhaps the tablet is saying it is in a part of the world where it isn't and sending conflicting info to sync? This seems more likely to me, isn't the gps antenna on the roof of the truck? Or is that the sat antenna?

Well I just went to Phoenix's FAQ page and what did I find?

"
Q. Can I use my existing OEM GPS Antenna ?

A. No you can not, unfortunately we do not interface our Antennas with OEM but plan to in the near future."

After you update it.... you have to use a paper clip and press the master reset button. I have done a couple updates and have had that issue. That is more just an android software thing.

Once you reset it.... it’ll come back on.

Let me know what happens when you swap the antenna.

Then if that doesn’t work let me know what happens if you unplug just the tablet antenna and leave the sync antenna in.

If none of that works, we then know it is related to some sort of interference that is being introduced by the installation of the tablet itself.

Next step would be to pull the plastic speaker out and OFF of the CD player. It’s a magnetic field on top of part of the brain.

—- report back on the above things and let me know.

So I tried using a paper clip to reset (using the “rst” button on the left front bezel above “mic” and it did nothing. The airbag lights are powering up. I tried holding it down while turning on and also holding it down after turning on with no luck. I started a support ticket as well.

Make sure your USB stick is removed.
Also... I’d consider pulling it open, unplug all the harnesses. Let it sit 24 hours. Then plug it all back in. Totally De-energize it.

What he said. Not sure what the point of the factory nav would be after you have this system? If you want factory nav I wouldn't bother with the tablet...
