ADD has told me its out of warranty but they will send me some touch up paint. I have sent a 2nd email today requesting touch up paint but have heard nothing back. My issue they REFUSE to answer is why only my rear bumper is rusting and not my front? Did they have an issue with a batch of paint? I hope they read this thread and see that people are now hesitant to order because of this issue.

I was as interested in a front bumper but not after those pics and ADD's response. They should send you a new bumper and make it right for the price you paid.

I'm no expert, but that looks like some cost cutting and someone forgot the primer.

I have an ADD Stealth Street Fighter bumper on my 18.

I really like the look and style of the bumper but all my rivets are rusted too.

I will probably just try to paint over them myself but everyone is right for the price of these things their should be no issues with something as lame as rust.

They are sending me the touch up paint free of charge. I did make them aware of some less than happy customers on the forums so their rep may make a statement here. I asked specifically why my front bumper is perfect and my rear is rusting so much and was told "rear bumpers rust more quickly". They were firm about the 12 month warranty.

I’m not sure what the reasoning behind rear bumpers rusting more quickly would be? Seems like the front would be more likely to get rock chips and rust. I was seriously considering the pro bolt on but I may hold off. I hear SVC has a new rear bumper in the works and from what I’ve seen, their powder coating and products in general are top notch!

I am within the 12 month warranty, emailed them the pictures this afternoon.

^ Keep us posted.

Luckily my issue is just the small rivets and nothing else.... I still love the bumper and if I have to dab a little black paint on the rivets then that's what I will end up doing....

I’m going to order some bolts in 316 stainless steel and stainless rivets from McMaster-Carr for the front.

Cole/ADD asked me to send my receipts/proof of purchase in and offered replacement panels for the rear and touch up powder coat. New rivets for the front...

The bumpers have been on my truck for less then five months.

I’m certainly worried about trying to remove the rust and paint over it with whatever they provide. Anyone have experience with this or is my best option to bring them to a place to get powder coated?

I have a ADD front bumper as well with no issues. Have any of you guys with rust issues been asked by ADD what type of chemicals your bumpers were exposed too? If nothing out of the normal crap they put on roads in the winter then it can only be a ADD QC issue. It's either a metal prep issue or a paint issue. That being said if your not comfortable with taking apart your bumper and applying the correct amount of paint to repair it I personally would look to ADD for another solution. Possibly taking the bumper to a paint shop of your choice and havin the bumper professionally done or shipping it back to ADD for replacement. ADD is a active vendor on this forum and they have a vested interest to make this right. Especially those guys that are still within the warranty period. IMO
