Lane keep is awesome on long road trips. Especially with a vehicle this big. Takes a fraction of a second to drift out of your lane at 75mph. Plus, it forces me to use my turn signals when on the highway.

Adaptive cruise is hit or miss. I drive 75-85mph on the highway. Always in the right lane and pass on the left....LIKE YOU ARE FREAKING SUPPOSED TO!!!!....problem is, if you don't time your pass correctly....you can come up on traffc, and go from 85-65 right as your are moving left. That can mess you up big time if you are trying to get around the SCUM OF THE EARTH LEFT LANE CAMPERS!!!!!!

Rain sensing wipers.......must have at this point.

Never use auto high beams.

I vote yes on the tech package.

I just had the first truck alert “sensor obstructed; adaptive cruise control disabled”. It’s a big honking dash alert that is very difficult to miss or ignore. The bumper was covered with freezing rain. cleared it and it was back to normal - t.

My wife was in her Explorer Sport...driving in freezing rain......i got the alert on the Ford Pass App. Scared me to death as i thought she had an accident.

A point of clarification; it’***** or miss if you only leave the following distance at the default. You adjust the ACC distance to account for the unpredictability of traffic. The problem is that users, including me, often set the cruise and expect the truck to do the traffic analysis for them and the truck isn’t programmed to make those kinds of decisions.

I find that ACC in heavy but fast traffic calls for a shorter following distance, to avoid dropping anchor when some selfish turtle decides that 2 car lengths is plenty of room for them to move their mommy van over left, and gradually increase speed, while I’m approaching at full speed. If you let this happen, it makes ACC frustrating. Once the traffic abates, you can increase the following distance for a less frenetic driving experience. There is such a thing as too much traffic for cruise control, even with ACC.

If you’re letting ACC slow you down before executing the lane change to pass, you’re doing it wrong. Know your following distance and approach speed differential. lane change left when you’re approaching a slower moving vehicle in your lane, if someone is outpacing you from behind, the pedal on the right will correct for that condition, allow you to pass the vehicle and get back right so as to not impede traffic.

The auto wipers are pretty cool esp if you hit puddles or mud and can’t see and don’t have to take your hands off the wheel. The heated wipers worked well for me in the winter and the auto cruise is nice as well. I’m glad I got the tech package although I don’t use lane keep assist as much anymore as it does tend to bug me. If anything I got a moonroof and probably shouldn’t have but it has been closed all winter and isnsuposoed to help for resale

How does the adaptive cruise control on the 19s compare to the 17/18s?

If it’s not a completely redesigned system, and they just basically added the capability to set it at any speed I don’t even think I’d want stop and go. My 18 goes full idiot anywhere but on the highways.

ACC doesn’t look 12 seconds down the road like a biker is taught, it looks at the vehicle in front. It doesn’t care about vehicles in adjoining lanes, or an approaching sea of brake lights. If you understand this and go with it, you’ll learn to appreciate ACC for what it is; a driver aid.

it’s works awesome on a 2 lane road, and can work in traffic if you know how to use it by setting the distance for the conditions. If you just set it and leave it at the default interval, people will constantly jump in front of you in their prius/bmw/lexus, slow down, because the only reason they wanted to be in front of you was because they are selfish, rude, f*ckwits and the truck will drop anchor to maintain distance.
