Well I went out to the dunes and tried to wear in the Icons a little. I think maybe they were really stiff when I put them on and they just needed a little persuasion because the rear came down a bit and now I’m looking pretty close to level.

Maybe it’s the way it’s sitting in the photos, or maybe it’s the ‘19 but it looks like more gap between tire and fender than I have.

@Obscure what’s the status of the missing leafs from your Icons?

@FrodoTBaggins88 Beautiful pics. I mentioned somewhere, perhaps here, I'm going out in August with my Raptor to Raptor Assault near Salt Lake. But I'll be coming into Utah near Moab for few days. Any hints or links to where i can go with the truck? Please take into consideration I'm a noob when it comes to off roading and don't want to get too crazy. I got my 17 Raptor stuck in mud in my backyard when it was new, if that gives you any hint. :lol:

@Big Blue Thank you for the explanation. One more question if you don't mind. Can one get the same improvement in ride quality you speak of with the Deaver +2 and leaving the front stock? I don't really want to raise the entire truck and I understand the +2 is stock height.

Also, if anyone knows, when you buy them and then bring them for powder coating, do they disassemble them and powder each entire leaf of the spring, or are they just spraying the outside?

As a noob, quick question(s):

Deavers, are they replacement leaf springs for the stock rear leaf springs, just better quality?

The Eibach springs in front, same, better quality, stiffer?

How much do these items cost? I've been spending my mod money on lights thus far on my 19, do almost no offroading, only because there's no place to in NY.

Am driving to Utah in August for RaptorAssault and plan on using my truck offroad in and around Moab the 2 weeks I'll be there.

Deavers, yes stock replacement. You get rid of the factory block. Better ride quality, depends.. but it really helps keep the rear end from jumping around over washboard roads and just keeps it more stable.
I vote Icons though, built in the same factory, have a better coating and are adjustable.. so you don't have to buy a new leaf pack if you need more lift or weight carrying ability.

Eibachs are I think like 10 or 11 pounds heavier than stock, so barely noticable, but they are linear so the rate doesn't change as it compresses unlike factory which are progressive and gradually stiffen under compression to help stop bottoming out.

Thanks man. I've been there and done that too, but it was in a Dodge that got stuck in my yard on wet grass haha.

I live in southern Utah right by Sand Hollow so that's usually where I go to play, but I do go to Moab a couple times a year. I haven't done any offroading in Moab with the Raptor yet, I'm going up mid-April so I can scout some good Raptor-friendly trails. I know Gemini Bridges would be a nice ride for the Raptor. I mostly bring my UTV and do Hell's Revenge, Fins n Things, Cliffhanger, the usual rock crawling trails. I don't really try to rock crawl with the Raptor, prefer more high speed desert type stuff. I'm sure some other guys that have been to Moab in their Raptor will chime in with suggestions. There is a dude with a thread going that's in Moab with his Raptor right now, he may know some good trails.

Sure, but you may want to consider getting drop shackles or your rear end will have even a greater rake than it does now. A drop shackle will adjust for the increased height of the deavers so it will pair well with no front end height adjustments.

Drop shackles would mean more travel meaning you would need limit straps to not tear any brake or electrical lines under full droop.

Don’t get drop shackles if your getting deaver +2.

I had well still have a set of +2HD deavers and before I replaced them with the Icons they sat at the same height as stock. You can add the RPG 1.5” collar and still have a small rake. The ride is greatly improved with proper leaf springs.
