Hi all, after trolling for the last couple of months, I've convinced myself to sell my 2014 Black Raptor and purchase a new 2019. I did some soul searching about giving up the V8 for the new V6, but I think overall all the positive things I'm hearing about the Gen 2's has convinced me to go for it. I've really loved owning my '14, but after 4 years it's time. The dealer is selling me the truck at MSRP and is waiting for the VIN. He said once he has a VIN, it will be about 6 weeks for delivery. Fingers crossed.
Only thing I'm skeptical about is trading my truck back, and getting the tax credit, or selling privately.
Any thoughts?

The tax credit is usually a better way to go for me once i factor in the hassle of selling privately but it depends on the trade value dealer will give.

Good luck. I went from 2014 to 2019 and feel the 2019 is better in almost every way. (Not engine sound.)

Thank you, that seems to be the general consensus. I love my '14, so it looks like I'll love my new '19 even more!

Congrats on the decision. I just took delivery of my '19 a month ago, and it's incredible. I honestly don't have any desire for a v8. Sure the v6 doesn't sound like a v8, but it also doesn't sound like the v6 in my wife's Explorer. It's got a growl to it.

Only word of caution is I wouldn't trust the six week timeline. Your typical F150 build is 8-10 weeks, and that's for a standard trim like XLT. The only way I see six weeks being realistic is if you're within close proximity to Dearborn Assembly. Trucks are delivered much faster when they go via convoy instead of rail.

Good luck with the wait!

I ordered mine 2/8. Received window stick last week. The Ford site says 4/3 delivery, which would be badass, but not holding my breath. Overall though, faster than I thought.

So my sticker says convoy. However the dealer is in KC. I’d think it would go rail??

Congrats man. My order is a bit of a special case but if it delivers next Friday like the tracker says, it will be right around the 7 week timeframe for the whole thing. Your mileage may vary.

The big question is, what’d ya get? What expensive boxes did ya check?

Thank you for the info. I figured that time estimate sounded too good to be true. Oh well, I guess the anticipation along with the frustration is something I'll have to deal with.

From what I've seen, they all say convoy. Though I could be wrong. I'm not sure what measurement Ford uses to determine convoy vs rail, but going to KC would almost certainly be rail.

Has your truck actually been built? If so, 04/03 isn't an unlikely estimate.
