Mine still has not shipped. Part of me wants to cancel and wait for a software revision to fix all of this. Not being customizable is a big deal to me. It’s probably not open source, so unless Phoenix fixes it themselves there is no hope of anyone else fixing it for ourselves.

Can’t see there not being another offering from another manufacturer (or even a rev 2 from Phoenix) in the next 6-12 months. It’s the f150... there will certainly be many of these to come.

On the other hand... $585 isn’t that much to just screw around with and see for myself. Worst case scenario... I’m out $585.

If not having google contacts is an issue definitely cancel your order. If you want a huge map, excellent sound quality, and the ability to sit in Burger King parking lot and watch YouTube while you eat your lunch like I did today, this thing rocks. It’s not an iPad, it’s not an android tablet, it’s a 12 inch head unit with a lot of extra features that are head and tails above stock. I’ll never be able to go back.

If you are the guy in your group people come to for tech help, you will prob love it. If you are the guy who has to call his little brother for help setting up your phone, you should probably stick with stock Sync.

Like you said, it’s 600 bucks, and you can always send it back. I bet you won’t.

I cancelled my order. I am the tech guy and a software engineer. More product manager these days. Love the concept, love the direction, Pheonix seems like a great company. This seems like a great product. I see the vision and the roadmap for this product and the concept in general. My world is in research and development. As Guy mentioned, after calibrating my expectations against the product it makes sense for me to wait it out at this time. That's me. My opinion.

That said Pheonix seems like a great company. I do recommend they consider running this product more like a tech startup. I'm here to help them pivot if they like. This is a first. None made it this far yet. If you want to be on the bleeding edge, get in now. There will be more generations and products like these in the next 12-18 months I'm sure. And I'll be right there evaluating.

For me this is my passion, fun. Its my career, tech, innovation, first of a kind tech. Hacking my truck and loving technology is what I do for fun. Let's remember that's what it's all about. Make whatever decision works for you. No judging here from me.

I would chime in that Phoenix service is pretty descent. I decided to return the unit as it did not deliver on the reasons I purchased it in first place, but Phoenix helped me to troubleshoot and responded to the return request immediately.
So I second the feedback that they are a great company and on the right track. Some more R&D based on consumers’ feedback would help them tremendously.

Agreed. I ordered on 2/12, emailed them yesterday morning for a shipping update, nothing yet.

I emailed them yesterday and did not get an answer either, I know delays happen but this is kind of ridiculous.

I ordered 2/12 as well and got my shipping notice this morning, so I'd imagine yours are shipping soon. Try putting in a support ticket regarding your order vs emailing: https://phoenixautomotivellc.freshdesk.com/support/tickets. They always respond to me within the day through that.
