Pedal Commander and COBB Access Port Features

Folks,

Is there any reason to have both installed?

I enjoyed the Pedal Commander for the past several months.

Last week I installed the Access Port and now have both installed.

Should I remove the Pedal Commander?

Any advantage to keeping both installed?

No point in keeping the pedal commander installed as the Access Port has the same functionality built in.

Pedal Commander allows you to make the changes on the fly whenever you want even when driving. A tuner, you have to retune and wait while stopped.

Actually, you can change the dynamic pedal control with the access port on the fly too. There’s no reflash. Same with the auto start/stop disable.

Since both devices effectively do the same thing, I've been wondering how much the COBB equipment actually adds to the equation.
What do I mean? Everyone who has installed the Stage 1 or 2 package says they have immediately noticed an improvement in response and performance - the same thing people said with the Pedal Commander.
So...if you took away this specific set of tweaks from the COBB solution, would the other enhancements be "noticeable"?

There’s zero performance increase with a pedal commander crap. It simply ramps up (or down) the pedal input to the ECU. Repeat, there is ZERO improvement in power/torque with pedal input activity with the pc or AP.

There is no way to compare the two devices. The pc is like a sticking your tongue to a 9v battery. You feel it but nothing really happens. The Cobb AP Tune is like sticking your *********** 220 outlet. Your face is blasted off.

I was curious of the same and so I flashed back to stock drove to town and back, about 12 miles. Then flashed to stage 1 OTS with dynamic pedal control at 0 which is stock. Still noticed a bigger kick in the pants just the same dead spot on initial throttle tip in like stock. I would say that the increased throttle response when dialing up the pedal control enhances the overall “feel” of speed by being more quickly accessible.

I guess that is my point - most people are not going to get a dyno done to be able to measure the changes. Most people are basing improvement on their perception. Are people going to actually notice the improvements beyond what the pedal commander did?
This is similar to the aftermarket exhaust topic - they change some perceptions by sounding different, which in some minds makes it feel faster.

Yes. The #1 functional item missing from the Cobb Tuning solution at this point is the transmission tuning that’s available from other “tuners”. I have the Cobb AP, but I’m waiting for them to step up and provide their AccessTuner tuning software and then the trans tuning capability before I actually make the switch from MPT to Cobb. My MPT tune has the same linear throttle as stock as I specifically requested from them and there is an obviously significant improvement in acceleration. That said, the trans tuning is key to the throttle response, not the pedal input tweaking.
