Not sure what some you are are smoking, but the 2020 is definitely not seeing a major, or even a minor redesign. Gen1 was around for 5 years before taking a 2 year layoff. That's 7 years between redesigns and the Gen2 is only 3 years old. Don't expect a major change to the Raptor until after the regular F-150 gets a redesign.

2019 got the live shocks which probably is the big mid-life update. Expect the 2020 to get a few new color choices and not much else.

There is a very small chance Ford could put the 7.3L in the Raptor (Ford execuse have already denied it). But honestly, I wouldn't be that excited to put a U-haul engine in my truck. But to each their own.

Never said anything about a V8 that’s unlikely in this generation. I’m saying a refresh like 2010,2011,2012 then 2013 and 2014 got an interior update and new sync features. Plus the announcement is relatively close. Wait and see what new features are included. No need to panic and FOMO into a new ride.

Agree with most everyone here. A 2019 at invoice is a steal! IF... the 2020 had any significant changes that were a must have for you, then your low purchase price on the 2019 will enable you to sell or trade it at very little loss.

Now... whenever Ford updates to a 14th gen F150, the Raptor is going to be a minimum of 1 year behind it, probably 2, maybe 3.

And... when the gen 3 Raptor does come out... are you prepared to pay $10-20k markup... over the new gen and model year increases... say $85-90k?

I just picked up new 2019 one week ago. What will or will not change in 2020 had no bearing on my decision. I know a lot of people that are always worried about what's next. I'm on this planet for a short time. I'm enjoying what's now.

I would wait. I was at the dealer today trying to unload my 18 for an f350 and the sales staff was low balling my truck on trade. I asked why and the a-holes were talking about the new version. I don't get how that affects me now, but they said they can't sell mine for much. Take that for what you want to. They didn't even look at the Ford Oasis history on mine. Not sure how much that woulda dropped it.

I think this information could have us that are thinking of buying dig a bit deeper to see what’s ahead.
It would make sense that when it’s in Ford’s favor to offer less due to a refresh etc. they share that tidbit with the Stealers!!

I believe I need to do the same. Thank you!

I would get the 19 especially if it's a good price, there is no guarantee for a 20 refresh, but it has been shown that these things hold their value really well. If the 20s does have the upgrades you want trade it in, if not your already enjoying your truck. Another benefit is, if the 20 is a significant change you can wait to see what kind of issues/bugs it may have, while already enjoying your 19.

Lastly let's face it, what the wife says today may change in a year.
Or sooner! Lol!!
I was thinking this as well that waiting and having significantly new changes may cause me to not want to be the 1st to test.
Also, all the information here that I want to utilize for upgrades and enhancements may not apply.
Thanks!

I would find 2018 and buy. The 2018 fox pro shocks ride better than the 2019. The shadow black more appealing than the agate black....wife might change mind ...buy now...buy a scab not a screw who needs a four door truck anyway...great deals on 2018 Raptors...the V6 HO twin turbo is awesome....ok relax guys just some kidding there ...get what you want but really how can there be much improvement on the 2018's.... :D
