Hi everyone

I am new to the forums and I apologize if this has been answered but I could not find it. How do I get rid of this message every time I start the truck on my 19 Super Crew? I have connected to Wifi of my house and tried updating the sync and also going through Ford Pass and everything appears to be up to date.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Other than that I am loving he vehicle

I Dont know of any way of making this go away without completing an update. You will either have to connect to a WiFi network or complete the update via a USB key. Maybe if you go into your settings and turn off "automatically update" that will cause it to stop.

Thanks I already tried turning off automatic updates and according to Ford Pass the system has the latest software.

Clearing this message every time I start it up is getting annoying. I have also tried disabling wifi and still no joy.

Reconnect to your wifi and leave it in that mode until the system completes the pending task. When complete, the message will go away. It may take several days for it to clear, or it may clear in a few minutes.

Even though it says you have the latest update, the computer isn't/wasn't finished the wrap up tasks before it lost connection.

OK- But why would it want a WIFI connection to update when it IS a WIFI connection? I am paying $20/month for the bloody ATT assigned phone number HOTSPOT, right. That's what my phone uses to connect to WIFI. If it's able to provide a HOTSPOT for other WIFI connections, why the hell can't it download whatever updates it needs thru that connection as well? That makes no sense to me.

Whether you understand the software functions or not is irrelevant. It really doesn’t matter if you haven’t allowed the system updates module to connect to separate WiFi to finish the update. If the operating system hasn’t wrapped up the install, it will continue to give the message. That is a basic DOS type function.

The WiFi hotspot mode is a separate function of the main operating system. Just park at any location that has WiFi available, connect the system to the WiFi and wait. It may take several tries to get it to complete the update, but it will finally get it done.

I got same problem with my truck. Its a 2019 and I tried everything. Connecting to WiFi, using hot spots, connecting and disconnecting. Nothing works and it’s getting frustrating!?

Also it’s running latest update 3.3 version and no new version is available at this time

Good advise if you feel like wasting your life away doing things that may never, ever actually work.

A few things.

1) Plenty of cases where the system simply will not update via wifi
2) The Hotspot function may be different, but you're missing the point. The hotspot function works by bridging to a cellular modem with a data plan. There is NO reason why the data plan cannot be used.
3) The update function is glitchy, especially the "auto update" waiting around in a location that has wifi when by your own admission it could take days, is shit advise. Use a USB stick or take it into the dealer and have them flash it with the latest version.

Its a brand new 2019. Take it to the dealership and let them deal with the issue. That is what I would be doing, if I had this going on.
