So...I finally flashed Stage 1 OTS 93oct map. Nice smooth power, no hesitation. Haven’t thrashed it but powerwise, I can feel the power delivery sooner. As others have mentioned, it’s the way the Raptor should come from the factory. It reminds me of stage 1 OTS flash on my STi. Basically wakes up the engine.

This for sure wets my beak for Stage 2. Looks like it will be the Cobb IC. Gonna look into exhaust too.

I did the corsa resonator delete x pipe. Very happy with the sound improvement. Hoping we get some more options for a side exit exhaust. Loved my SW lighting catback on my gen1.

Anything on 2019? I wonder how does the Cobb effects the new Fox shocks on 2019.

COBB bring it on for 2019 before I spend my money on someone else!!

Yes this will be intersting on the 19s. There are differences for sure. For example, the pedal commander makes my truck flip out. Throws all kinds of codes. Took it off and GTG.

My favorite feature on the 19 is the sport suspension mode. It literally cuts body roll in half. Wonder if Cobb will be able to play with that as well.

[email protected] anyone else who knows exactly. At what point are dealerships able to see a tune or tuning device? Basically (and flame me if you’d like), if I bought an AP for just the additional features for now like the Auto start stop delete, DPC, gauges, and have he ability to troubleshoot codes, would there be any tuning evidence? I’m assuming not since I would t actually be changing the stock map. What if I backed up the stock map? Are these features accessible even if I don’t upload a tune?

DarkHorse,

I have no affiliation with Cobb but ran tunes on previous WRX’s so I might be able to assist... The Cobb AP downloads your stock map as Stage 0 so you can always flash back. It’s a very nice feature of the AP and why many at Porsche and Subaru swear by them.

As for Dealer detection I’d be curious to know that as well, as I’d also be interested in applying to a Cobb tune to a ‘19 if I can find one for the right price!

Hope that helps somewhat

First you have to write to the ECU to change things such as auto start stop.

Your dealer will always be able to tell if they really want to. Most of it is done on key cycles. They will see how many times your key has been cycled since the ECU was flashed. I suppose you could sit there and press the button or cycle the key hundreds of times after you flash. If something happens to your motor or drive train Ford will.most likely bring in the big guns and they will be able to tell what was done to the ECU if they want. Now we all know that they have to prove that the tune caused the fault. Most times it plays out that they deny the claim with no further evidence. Sure you can take them to court but who do you think has deeper pockets??

Bottom line is if you can afford the motor or something else to grenade dont do it. Even if it's a coincidence it's going to be an uphill battle.

Now sometimes you can get a friendly dealer that will help you as much as they can which is nice. But if something goes bad it will most likely be out of their hands.
