Absolutely sucks, the hell with trying to find it or track it down. If my truck gets stolen I wouldn't want it back.

TL;DR: If you're near the southern border or any major cities I'd seriously consider having your lock cylinder removed from driver door or locking rod removed to disable the keyed entry. It is absolutely a joke how easy it is to break into these trucks.

How would you go about doing this?

The owner got it, then you and now me. I don't want a stolen vehicle back, in fact when friends borrow my wheels I tell them if you get in a accident, don't bring it back unless its written off !!

Sorry to hear about that. It sounds like you’re taking it better than I would’ve. Luckily I haven’t experienced any theft attempts on my Raptor here in Houston. Good luck getting everything settled with insurance, etc. I hope the thieves get what they deserve.
Thanks man. I've never experienced anything like this before and I've lived in some urban areas, just didn't expect it at all.

Yeah that's what sucks. You know how it is with your Raptor, when I got it I had already started bonding with it haha. I was so sad when I saw it was gone. I bought basically the same truck, but just don't feel as connected to it now. It kind of ruined the whole experience and now I'm just paranoid knowing how easy they are to break into. Even if they didn't steal the truck, the fact that my brand new $75k truck would have been broken into and damaged the first night I got it would have really ruined the experience of getting a new truck.

I was told by the employees of the second dealer that they all had it done by the dealership, but I've seen tutorials for doing it just googling around. I'm not sure what I'm going to do for mine yet.

Sorry to hear about your loss! If the key fob wasn't still in the truck they would not have been able to steal it without a code snatcher, I think. With the key fob in hand they have probably already shipped it overseas or driven it to Mexico to sell as a Brand New Raptor.

Is the stock Key FOB removed from the Truck and the 802A stock perimeter and tilt alarm enough to stop theft or are pro thiefs able to override the stock keyless start and alarm security system?

Glad you were able to get a new truck same day. Hope you get your money back on the stolen one.

Aloha, HT

Well my truck was an 802a and I had the add-on shock sensor alarm as well. The dealer said they install them on every Raptor as soon as they come in. On the security footage no alarms went off. When they unlock your truck by breaking the lock cylinder or moving the lock rod, the truck thinks you used the metal key to unlock it. They got in and drove away like no big deal, gone in under a minute. I mean you know it's bad when 3 out of 3 people you talk to in a city has had their truck stolen.

I would still set up the app for the hell of it to see if it will track it. You never know. It might still be close

I did add it to the app after it was gone just hoping they'd be dumb enough to accept the connection from inside the truck. At this point I'm not looking to get the truck back, but I'd love to see some arrests come out of it.
