I just ordered my first Raptor 2 weeks ago and Ford has sent me the VIN # and told me it will be built on February 11. I know nothing about them I just think they are cool looking. I am 70 years old and had to get the electric running boards that drop down 8 inches so my wife and I can get up in it. Mine listed at 76,000 and I got it for 71,500 so I thought I got a pretty good deal. Can anyone tell me what a Gen1 is and a Gen2 and the difference between them?

Gen 1 is model years 2010-2014 and Gen 2 is model years 2017-2019. There are many many differences

if you got on it would hold in a gear and and after letting off would not go back up in gears correctly.

just sayin...that is how it is supposed to work. "sport" mode is intended for spirited driving. The last thing you want to have happen when doing some sort of a timed run, is to let off throttle as you set up and brake for a corner, expecting to roll back into the throttle on exit.....having the truck "up shift" mid corner would be bad.

People...my self included.....use "sport" mode on the street when it is really not designed for it. I have said man times....i wish there was a "sport" mode with that throttle response, but "normal" mode shift mapping. that would be the perfect set up for me.
