So, you got the oil warning light and limp mode, didn’t check the oil, got to where you were going and did check the oil?

You’re assuming that 2 occurrences are related where both are simply unrelated facts.
Running the pedal commander has nothing to do with being low on engine oil. While it’s possible to screw up the p/c install and de-install, this does not appear to be that.

You have symptoms that include running a pedal commander, going heavy on the throttle, limp mode and low oil warning light. Subsequently you verified you were running with low oil. Limp mode is designed to save the engine from catastrophic damage in conditions like low oil. While this is not a scientifically sound analysis, at an evidentiary level, it is exceedingly likely that your low on oil condition caused the malfunction indicator lamp. There are 2 issues paths here, short term remediation and long term fix.

1) short term remediation - add sufficient and correct oil.
2) advise dealer you had the check engine light. I would not involve the pedal commander in this discussion and for the purpose of said dealer visit I would not have a pedal commander with me. They will likely want to monitor oil, however, there is a TSB from Ford that replaces the valve covers, I believe it’s due to the original design and gasket allowing oil to be ingested via the valve train.

You are a bit snarky and I think I appreciate that. You are correct that they probably don't have anything to do with each other. I would not have driven it had I not restarted and it showed adequate oil pressure. I was, however, unaware that the "gauge" is nothing more than a fancy pants graphic idiot light.

I will call the dealer and inform them, to get it on record and I will monitor it. I will also change the oil for full synthetic tomorrow. Thanks for the very accurate, although a bit snarky response. LOL

Yup, the “gauges” have been dumbed down since the late 80’s. I had a working one in a ‘90GT but when the temp gauge went bye-bye the parts guy was not shy about telling me it was just a pretty idiot light. I guess they got tired of replacing the failed sending units ? whatever.

Really I wasn’t trying to be snarky, it just comes to me naturally. I was multi-tasking and attempting to separate the fact patterns as I believe them to be distinct and unrelated.

Good luck with the stealership repair. Honestly, I’d push them for the new valve covers now, rather than have to wait for it to use still more oil. see if they’ll work with you.

I put the truck in Sport mode, put the PC on sport+ mode and +4 on sensitivity. I punched it and it took off and then went into"limp mode" with the computer saying that I had no oil pressure and flashing red. I pulled over, turned the truck off and restarted it. Oil gauge was right in the middle and everything seems fine. This has happened two other times. Any clue???

This is a known problem, and there is a tsb for it. Hopefully you didn't do any damage to the engine in the process.

I do not want the dealership to know about PC, so the plan is to remove it and reinstall it before and after service. I was wondering if disconnecting the battery would do the trick instead of burring the keys in the basement...?

If you got the bluetooth PC just hide it and use your phone to change settings. No need to remove the PC.

Getting a 19’ Raptor soon. Was considering this option as I don’t really want a tune. Just a little better throttle response. Worth it? Seems a lot of people having some type of issue although maybe due to improper install

No. It can cause issues due to the way in which it modifies the APP signals. The PCM algorithm is extremely complex and can detect when the APP signals are outside of the expected range, which occurs under certain circumstances. This results in a DTC to setting and multiple warnings/limp mode.

Sport mode provides plenty of throttle response for me.
