I recently traded in my Gen 1 for a Gen 2 but took my methods and old tires as part of my trade. I now need new tires -have been running BFGs the last two tire changes in the stock size-last time wer KO2s.

I think they have been ok-lots of weight to balance, not great in the rain but otherwise don't have a lot of complaints. truck gets about 18k a year in miles, daily driver, snow, off road on sand no mud. 5% fun driving off road. On road performance in rain, snow is important. Grip in bad weather is more important than miles to me-IE rather get 35k out of a tire with great grip vs 45 and be feeling less planted when the weather is bad.

I need new tires and will be installing 1.5" ish collars in front and am thinking about the following tires

BFG-315s
Goodyear Duratrac 35x12.5 r 17 (.4" bigger than stock)
Nitto Ridge Grappler 315s to save weight vs 35s
Falken Wildpeak AT-On the list but unlikely at this point

Would love some guidance from others on stay with the BFGs or should I make a change....

Thanks

Duratracs all day long. they wear well and go good in the snow. I run the 35s. Keep in mind the 35s are load E and the 315s are load D, stock is load C.

Are you running the 35s? I like the idea of the slightly larger tire....How much does the ride change with load E?

Yes I run the 35's. Ride doesn't change all that much, but I do believe it is noticeable. I learned the difference in load after I bought mine.

I run Falken AT3W in the winter. For winter grip it is my go to tire. The Duratrac is probably better in the deep snow but ice and hardpack traction will be better with the Falken. It has a ton of siping and all the sipes are the full depth of the tread so even at 50% tread life they will still perform well in the elements. The balancing is on par with BFG and Goodyear, maybe a little better. The 20/32's tread depth is nice too. Ridge Grapplers are nice but probably now optimal for ice/harpack.

Did you put collars up front? If so, what size?
