2018 Ford Raptor SuperCrew
Stock Truck
91 Octane

Stock the truck makes a modest 365whp and 440ft-lbs of torque. I installed the newly released COBB Tuning Accessport on their Off the shelf 91oct Stage 1 map. This map made 397whp and 514ft-lbs of torque. There were clearly gains to be had on 91oct.

I ended today on my own custom map at an astounding 434whp and 549ft-lbs of torque! That’s a gain of 69whp/109wtq over stock on **91 octane**!!! The truck is completely different. Throttle response is 10x better, and with COBB’s Dynamic Pedal Control the end user can further modify pedal feel to their liking!

I wasn’t able to add as much ethanol as I had wanted but got content up from E9 to E21. With that I made further adjustments and ended at 444whp 549wtq.

Needless to say, I’m impressed! A bone stock truck plus a tune. I expect another 20-30whp and better power up top with higher ethanol content. For now I’ll spend more time on the dyno and see how much more power I can squeeze out also continue to refine these calibration files.

I’d like to give a special thanks to Lance at Hammer Performance in El Paso. He let me spend the majority of the day on his dyno for my testing. He also has a ton of cool Raptor projects going! Special thanks to Joe for the help during the process!

Thanks for reading.

Awesome gains!!!!! Quite a bit of drivetrain loss but easily attained with a stage one protune.

Excited to see a stage 2 Protune with downpipe and Intercooler.

Thanks man! I spent a lot of time on the dyno today, the 91oct gains are insane! COBB really did a great job putting this software together for us. An intercooler is definitely needed. Charge air temps go up quite a bit during the pull. I have a COBB intake I need to install as well. Just waiting on their downpipes and Front Mount Intercooler

This is exactly the information I have been wanting!!!! I too only have crappy 91 octane available to me.

Thank you for taking the time to post your results for the rest of us!

Excellent thread, it's nice to see independent testing done to show actual performance achieved. It's great that you have shown what the tune alone can achieve. Will you be posting as you install the other mods so we can track the gains? I think it would be interesting to see how the intake and tune improve performance, followed by the other mods.

So correct me if I'm wrong. Using the accessport you made changes to the COBB tune?

If so would you mind posting the changes made?
Does the accessport provide warning if you are making a potentially dangerous change in parameters?

Thanks again for the thread.

Great thread and results. I’ll be talking with a friend of mine tomorrow who is Cobb ProTuner. I can’t wait to start cranking up the power mine.

He tuned my STi and it is rock solid.
